How did he win all those fights by being static? Typical armchair analysis back in the 70's that was consistantly proven wrong.

He was static compared to Greb , and I saw a lot of Monzon.

Great boxers like Slattery,Loughran, Tunney,Rosenbloom ,could not keep Greb at range ,and they were all light-heavyweights,who became world champs.

Why would Monzon be anymore successful than them?

At their best's Harry Greb was too, too quick and mobile for Monzon...Monzon would have been outpunched 3-1 by Greb. Greb beat and kod a much bigger edition of Monzon in Gunboat Smith who was built along the lines of Monzon tall and rangy wiyh a deadly right hand...Harry also licked bigger great fighters as Gene Tunney, Tommy Gibbons, Jack Dillon, Tommy Loughran, Billy Miske, Battling Levinsky, a cutey as Maxie Rosenbloom,Big Bill Brennan FOUR times etc. With all due respect to Monzon, Carlos never ventured into the top light heavyweight fighters of his time. Monzon knew his limitations...Harry Greb in a 300 fight career HAD No limitations...Greb traveled by rail from town to town almost weekly taking on everybody, ducking nobody...Greb by a wide decision...Too fast and resourceful...

Greb is certainly a greater fighter. Hell, I have him top-3 all time P4P, and there is an argument to be made for the number 1 slot.

But I can't imagine how this would go without seeing footage of Greb. Carlos was so strong and unflappable. Still, I guess I have to pick Greb.
