Surely not. Just a possible scenario. As we know that 'anything' is possible in boxing. :yep

I seriously think dicks like you, Frankenwank etc etc should be ip banned from this board. This is supposed to be a haven from general forum twerps who know little about boxing. But still this board has had an influx of thread space wasters.

I'll take Hagler. Monzon was dropped by a welterweight while Hagler was never dropped. Marvin fought bigger men at the highest level while Monzon was generally accustomed to fighting smaller men at the same level. Hagler had better handspeed and probably better power as well. Marvin's head and shoulder movement would make it difficult for the somewhat robotic Monzon to land cleanly enough to do any real damage. Even if he does land clean shots, Marvin's concrete chin would be able to take it. Marvin at his best would have little trouble reaching Monzon. Look at what he did to taller fighters like Minter, Obel, Mugabi and of course Hearns...While absorbing frightful punishment along the way. If Monzon wins this one it would be by close decision and he would have to be at the top of his game. The more likely outcome I think would be Hagler by unanimous decision or mid to late round stoppage.

A draw, maybe Hagler pulling out a close verdict.

My guy is Hagler................. Hagler was more diversified in his approach / attack...... Hagler had good lateral movement and was able to shift from orthodox to southpaw with ease............. Hagler's only real hang-up was, he was short at 5' 9" tall............ Still, Hagler in his prime was the ultimate bad-ass....................

I see Hagler getting in and out on Carlos Monzon........ Monzon was very erect and upright, but also a tad slower than Hagler and not as fluid.......... Monzon's height and strength would be his asset, and he'd use them fully, but I see Hagler as a more skilled boxer / puncher with better finess..........

I would question that part. Monzon was very good on the inside as well, and we've seen a few fights where Hagler was somewhat tentative about exchanging on the inside (ie: vs. Duran). Given a choice, Hagler generally preferred to box or pressure methodically rather than brawl on the inside. I would say Monzon and Hagler are fairly evenly matched at close quarters, while Monzon would have the advantage from the outside, which would be the difference.

I'm bored shitless, so I popped in "Monzon-Valdez" from '77 for review......... Monzon was decked in round 2 for a flash, but got up steady......... Both have cuts......... Valdez bleeding much worse than Monzon.............

I swear, Monzon is boxing in 1977 just like Vitali Klit did in 2009 against Carlos Arreola......... Using their height, jab, strength, power & savy............ Its uncanny / eerie.... Both "Monzon & Vitali Klit" are applying similar tactics that work well to the max....... Smooth operations are happening........
