BIG DEE HERE= Dempsey by early rd KO maybe the 1st. Dempsey to fast for Carnera. Carnera had a hard left jab and a very hard uppercut but Dempsey would not allow Carnera to get in position to use it like Sharkey did. Carnera was never the same after the Baer beating as he lost all his nerve. Carnera did hurt Loughran several times in their fight. He hurt him in the late rds and
this sealed the win for Carnera. Loughran hurt Carnera several times with huge right hands up to the 8th rd but after that Carnera used his weight
and huge feet to control Loughran by breaking Tommy`s right big toe in the clnches by stomping on it.

It would be Willard all over again.

Dempsey would attack the slow, hapless giant like a panther on a Guernsey milk cow. It would resemble the Willard fight, only Primo didn't have the chin of Willard. A very bad matchup for Primo, somewhat like his fight with Baer, only Dempsey was a more purposeful, vicious killer than was Baer, and Dempsey wouldn't let up for a second with Carnera. A ko in 2 with about 6 or so knockdowns capped off with a full count knockout for the Manassa Mauler. It would be like the Firpo fight more than the one with Willard, only Carnera didn't have the power to deck Jack like Firpo did.

At the right angle, in the right spot, with the right punch, anybody can have a knockout that generally only comes to those with naturally savage punching power.

That's why styles are so important in picking fight outcomes.

Well, with this "natural progression " the SEVEN years gap between Dempsey's and Carneras reign would really make a difference! .And think of the SIXTY years between Ray Robinson being Champ at 147 and Antonio Esparagozza today .Robinson would get murdered wouldn't he?

I do not like Carnera's skills on film at all. He was relatively slow, had poor defense, an average jab at best, and limited power for a man his size. A much more active and dynamic Dempsey would have had my vote to finish Carnera before the midway point of the fight.
