    round 6.

    war has been declared
    its bombs away

castilljo hurts barrera on the ropes but back comes carrwera

castilljo does it again exact same as he did v sturm

castilljo backs carrera up against the ropes and fires lead left uppercut after lead left uppercut rocking back carrera head time and time again until he can take no more and goes down and is up at 9 but his corner enter the ring and cal it off.

    castilljo wins ko 6.

desptie me thinking carrera would win, castijlljo has real heart and pulls of a minor shock again.

    great enjoyable fight.

Castillejo has fought at 154 for 15 years! If anything, that's a testament to his conditioning and his pride for the game. I thought he was done a while ago, but with a victory over Sturm and now Carrera maybe he's still a very solid gatekeeper.

As soon as you think Castillejo is shot and finished he gets a big win again... wow.

This is the same guy who got schooled by Oscar, comes back and beats Karmazin, then loses to Vargas and looks finished, beats Sturm, loses to Carrerra but get's his title back because of 'roids, then loses to Sturm only to come back and beat Carrera.

Wow.. the rollercoaster that is Javier Castillejo...

Great all action fight. Both fighters gave everything they had. Some rounds were total war. Castillejo is old, but he can still bang. That uppercut is deadly.

Arguably the best (and most important) live fight on Eurosport in the last few years! :good

I have just watched the whole thing Sean, just that I didn't know it was about to go live and so I couldn't reply back then. Hombre, how can you say that Javier caught him flush? He beat the living Jesus out of Mariano with that mutha****ah solid right to da temple... Carrera's legs went like jelly fish and senile, ******ed Steve Smoger, God forgive me if he's not a real threat to fighter's health at this point ( and after Larry Hazzard stopped Indio Quintana in AC and SS did not, and the Miranda-Pavlik thang in round 6 that had Larry screamin in disgust), was almost about to let the argentinean kiddo go back to his corner without a count :yikes !!!

This was the longest chicken dance I ever saw by Carrera in round 6 - his legs were gone 3-4 times that round...

Once again Castillejo vs Carrera was fun to watch. All in all a very entertaining fight.Great and very exciting 6 th round!
I would have loved to watch Sturm cope with Carrera.Guess that their encounter will never come off after today's outcome of Carrera's encounter with the old Spaniard!
I am a little bit disappointed that the tough and cagey Argie lost to that old Spanish vet.
Castillejo vs Sturm III doesnt sound as enticing as Carrera vs Sturm IMO.

The Linx is a die-hard warrior and I can say that I have had the honour to have attended one of his training sessions and met him. Actually he beat my trainer in 1989, much before he would fight for a WBC SWW title and at this age of 39 ( 2 years older than me), he can still make it 160 all due to tremendous discipline and mental strength in the gym. Then, he's a Gentleman and fights for his country like no Spaniard does. But I would like to get back to Steve Smoger and since I'm talkin 2 standing 8countboxing, WTF happened with the alzheimer patient, senile ref at the time of the ****in stoppage? The kid was taking uppercuts and absolutely outa there ( didn't beat the 10 count), his chief second coming to rescue him and Steve still looking on to continue the fight :yikes ... Well, I also would like to say that if Roger Mayweather was suspended for the Judah fight, what was Sanchez Atocha ( Castillejo's drunk Chief second) doin in there if he slapped the ref and a coupla securities when Mariano stopped him in 11 . Good fight and Javier is gonna knock Felix Sturm a 2nd time. I have no further comments.

Well, Castillejo is still Sebastian Sylvester's official mandatory challenger for the European title as well, if the money offered by Sauerland is right he may take that fight as the likely end of his career instead of a third one against Sturm next year.

great fight, but im really dissappointed that carrera lost. i mean he looked like a prospect at 27.

castillejo is 39 and has not much of a future imo.

sylvester vs castillejo would be very nice though.
