On the same night of the Casamayor-Marquez PPV, they are showing this on Showtime:

Showtime) Nate Campbell (32-5-1) vs. Joan Guzman (28-0)

(Showtime) Timothy Bradley (22-0) vs. Edner Cherry (24-5-2)

Not a tough choice to make, IMO.

I might have to DVR that card..^^^
And Give GBP my $ for the Marquez/Casamayor fight :|

    I hate missing BIG fight's.
Great night for the 135-140 Lbs

    + Forrest Vs. Mora.
(The Marquez/Casamayor card could have 2 potential final
Career threat/ending fight's on them, could be the last time we see a fighter or 2)

I tried to explain that top the ass sucking corporate boy at Time Warner, but his attitude was (And he was right) that we as hardcore fans and our opinions are strictly subjective. Just because we here at ESB (Most of us, anyway) are outraged, and pissed that a fight we deem worthy of HBO BAD or WCB, has been deemed worthy of PPV status by Oscar and Schaefer and the Execs at Time Warner, it is basically NUNYA what they do behind closed corporate doors. So, bottom line, on Fightnight, and I truly believe that JCC doesnt have that massive a fanbase, the MGM will sell poorly for this event, and HBOPPV and GBP will lose $$$ on the Promotion. IF this happens, the Greedy ****s at GBP MIGHT get the hint, "Gee, boxing fans arent as dumb as we thought" and they wont blow PPV $$$ at the drop of a hat for just any fight. :deal

That is definitely a WCB card, and the fact that the Campbell-Guzman card is on FREE SHOWTIME (kind of an oxymoron, but not PPV) will eat into the PPV buys even more.

Who made the decision to make it a PPV? HBO, Schaefer, or DLH?

According to the Time Warner Corporate Boy I talked to this AM, it was a combination/collaboration of all three.

Don is putting Campbell on Showtime. Don cares about the fans. Oscar is putting Casamayor on PPV. Oscar doesnt give 2 shits about the fans.

I KNOW you are going to be right. Mr. Corporate Boy from Time Warner is going to get a return call the week after the fight, when we start getting the dismal PPV numbers. Hell, I might even call Richard. :hi:

    :rofl

And the fact that you have the Guzman Campbell fight on the same night ..**** I bet he doesn't even answer the phone and I also think the ppv numbers never get released for how bad this will do .

We actually touched on that....I asked him who I could call to get the actual PPV numbers, and he gave me Business Talk gobbledegook about how it was the discretion of the Promoter and the Cable Network in charge, and they didnt necessarily need to release them to the public.
