Numbers don't lie, punch stats show who landed the most power shots and who outworked the other the most. Castillo.
1st time I've watched the fight I had it for Castillo. 2nd time for Floyd and I think it stays that way. Good, close fight.
What ever way I watch this fight I score it 116-112 for Castillo. In Mayweather fights over the last decade there is a strong case for him taking the close-ish rounds, simply through efficiency. I believe it was clear as day, that Castillo was banking rounds in this fight due to volume and lack of output from Floyd. Its as simple and as cut and dry as that. When Mayweather wasn't working or throwing, Castillo was walking in and landing shots to the body and often the head. It was a clear cut win for Castillo. Did Floyd not break his hand in the first fight? To answer your question; that is what was different second time around.
Castillo beat Void, but Void's judges were afraid to score against him, however, a rematch was ordered because of so many complaints about the decision.........
I just checked my score from when I last watched the fight and I had it 114-113 Castillo. First time I watched it I had to longer for Castillo. Probably got caught up in the hype of it all. It was nice to look back and see Mayweather is actually human!
Pretty much how I had it. Most experts had Floyd winning the first six rounds. That was just to much to overcome!
8-4 floyd 1. floyd 2. floyd 3. floyd 4. floyd 5. floyd 6. floyd 7. castillo 8. castillo 9. floyd 10. castillo 11. castillo 12. floyd 116-112 floyd
What do you think about the 2nd fight though? In my view, that fight was close as well. I scored it a draw
I had Floyd winning by 2 rds. I think he won the first 4 pretty decisively. Castillo made some noise in the mid rds with good bodywork and cutting off the ring, bu keep in mind for every punched he landed, you could say he was just hitting arms and elbows for the next punch (Crowd was really a big part of why people think Castillo should have been giving the nod) Of course they each lost a point so that evens out. But I said on here plenty of times, there was a round towards the champioship rds after Roger told him to show him what he was made of (or something to the extent) in between rds and that next round, Floyd literally stayed in the pocket the last minute and a half or so and tore Castillo up, and to me that round was the one which turned the fight back in his favor and Castillo really couldn't adjust after that. Plus after the 1st or 2nd round which Floyd clearly won, you hear him mentioning his shoulder so its not like it was only brought up after the fight. All in all a great fight. Floyd's first fight at 135 facing the undisputed champion. And like a true champ, he immediately faced him for a rematch to remove any doubt.
Thats the only argument in a close fight that the champ is usually giving the nod, but I think Floyd got him by 2 rds. Still a great contested battle. As far as blueprint, how many have tried to rough Floyd up after that fight? And what have the results been?
People think that because Castillo was the first to attempt to bully Floyd that, that equalled a loss...lmao. Castillo did not land close to the number of punches that was said to have landed on Floyd. It's really biased Margarito fans and Pac fans that think Castillo won. Lampleys call was atrocious. During replays he even lied about punches that landed when they were missed or blocked. Just watch the fight. As a matter of fact I'll post the fight lmao. You make the call.
The only clear round that Castillo won so far is round 8, and some of you think that he won, lmmfao???
