Fair enough, but i fail to see why pure observers can't have knowledge of the game as well.

Is your opinion on who is greater, SRR or Greb, automatically more worth than mine, just because you get your ass kicked in your local gym twice a week and have had some amateur fights? Does that automatically make you more knowledgable, even if I spent my whole life watching tapes and studying boxing while you don't even know who Harry Greb is?

To me, "have you ever boxed yourself? if not stfu" is the lamest comeback ever and most of the time, doesn't have anything to do with the topic at hand.

No. All you real fighters wouldn't have any trouble knocking my fat midget-ass out with a range-finder-jab, no doubt.

But I refuse to accept that that automatically means that you are therefore able to make a more educated guess on who would be the tougher fight for Floyd, Khan or Maidana.

Shoot me, but that's my opinion.

And there are a lot of "real boxers" here that dksab imo, as well as guys that never fought in their whole life but have a great understanding of the sport nevertheless.
