...they **** me. I have a feeling the there are lots of them posting here. As a boxing fan, I don't like to make judgements on a fighter until I have seen him perform, I feel performance is the best way to see what a fighter has to offer (and the performance of their opponents). This for me is more important than names, age, wins/losses etc. Casual fans think they know everthing when they only watch guys they see on TV. If they haven't heard of a boxer...hes ****. If they haven't faced someone they know....hes ****. If he hasn't faught in America....hes ****. Just thought i'd throw that out there.
If he's a casual fan, I dont think he's gonna be registering and posting on a boxing site. Maybe he'd be a member of a general sports forum like ESPN or something, and he'll chime in on a couple of boxing threads there, but that'll be it.
You don't think we can form a fairly accurate view of how good Bute is from looking at his fights against Bika, Berrio and Andrade? And would I or anyone else be overrating him much if we assumed he was a Top 3 SMW, based on those performances and those of his opponents at the time, as well as those of other of his peers in the division?
The guy who gave Calzaghe hell, if you're British, the guy who was unlucky to have his fight against Beyer, if you're German, the guy who won 5 rounds against Bute, if you're Canadian, the guy who beat Soliman, if you're Australian, or the guy who beat the **** out of the second best American SMW in the world, Peter Manfredo Jr, as well as out of Codrington, if you're American.
