Casuals are the nerds who sit around playing boxing on the Playstation matching Ali against Ray Robinson and thinking that's reality.
Anyone who pays for a UFC PPV is an idiot.

Uhm, I'd be worried if they didn't outsell GGG's...

    Lol. I wouldn't say that.

If Golovkin could get 3/10 of the popularity of Mayweather than he would supersede Ronda.

Ronda does what every other fighter needs to do. She sells herself and forces herself in the spotlight. She goes on talk shows, she personally tweets, she personally instagrams, she rides other fighters' coattails (*cough Mayweahter) by creating nonsensical feuds, she cameo's in movies, and sells her body to attract attention. She make herself as available as possible to all these different types of promotion. I get some fighters are more personal, serious and are not about that life, but it's how you reach the casuals.

Ronda is a celebrity. Golovkin won't reach that status, anywhere near her. She's a *** symbol (of sorts)

Say what you want, but boxing stars > UFC stars. The general public will always veer toward a exciting male boxing match with a star boxer than a female UFC one with a star fighter. And I'm saying this as a female.

Boxing has a prestige to it. If Golovkin, or Canelo, or whoever fills the void as the next PPV star in boxing than I believe that person will undoubtedly succeed anything the UFC has to offer (including Rousey). It's just finding that person, and right now Golovkin feels like the best bet.

Roman Gonzalez will deserve a lot of credit for this PPV no matter how many numbers it does. Casuals will buy the package to see the #1 guy in Boxing alone and see is he worthy of that title.

Exactly. UFC hype machine have pushed Honda and Conor to the hilt, but they remain largely unknown outside of MMA fans (or boxing fans who visit forums who've had to witness her cringey Mayweather coattail antics.) Very few boxers make it through into mainstream consciousness, let alone a mixed martial artist

GGG is head and shoulders above any MMA fighter or other boxer in terms of being the next to break through

And for a guy with such limited English, who isnt a "controversial" loudmouth moron like Mayweather or McGregor, AND who isnt being shoved down our throats by a propaganda machine, that's damn impressive

    Exactly.

Golovkin is seriously on verge from being a breakout crossover PPV star and by doing it the honest way. By fighting frequently and being exciting. That's literally been it. So, for him to be on that verge of crossover star by not having to trash talk or being made into a hype product, that's extremely impressive. All the while he's not even American and only debuted 3 years ago! There are still American fighters who have been on the scene for years who have not gone through the crossover transition. That's what's so unique and impressive about GGG's crossover success.
