Chad Dawson or Joe Calzaghe

Dawson is faster, it comes from watching him fight, the same way that IYO Calzaghe has faster foot speed. Its not mearsurable obviously, but based on personal opinion. What is this "whole nother range" that he has to his game? Dawson is a very effective in fighter. He is very well rounded, throws great punches especially his uppercuts and body shots. In fact, Dawson was more know for landing these punches earlier in his career then his straight left from the outside. Where Dawson beats Joe, is that he can do things in the ring that Calzaghe cannot. He can put together odd combinations, use superior head and upper body movements to create openings. Because Joe is techincally very European in nature, he not only doesn't use these skills himself, but will have trouble adapting to them. As for Joe not knowing how to adapt, let me elaborate. Kessler when counter punching was tagging Joe, and making it very akward for him. Yet Joe was simply unable to get inside where he would have been the suprior fighter. Dawson IMO will be better from the outside, and I don't think Joe has what it takes to change his gameplan and get the win.

 

If this fight comes through I am hitting you up for an avatar bet for 1 month. Provided Dawson doesn't try to move too far up in weight, he is the future of boxing. He has all the skills to become a great great champion.

 

I think Calzaghe would win, but it is the fight I most want to see for sure.

Chad Dawson might be too inexperienced at this point to beat Calzaghe. Adamek had some success when he took the fight to Dawson and Calzaghe will definately put more pressure on him. Calzaghe also uses his experience to adjust to fighters and discourage them as the fight goes on.

 

Half the people that voted on this **** and are making comments have never ever seen dawson fight. For the obvious mental midget that said Calzaghe has the better foot speed is just ****ing insane to say the least. Dawson has better hand speed and can put 6 punch combinations together that are NOT wide and are str8 and his right hand and uppercut will just DESTROY calzaghe.. pretty much everything Dawson throws would not be hard to land on Calzaghe. Like Dawson is that ****ing stiff ass statue Kessler.. A HAAHAHA this **** is funny.

 

Calzaghe is not as strong and does not apply more pressure then Adamek. And, oh yeah. Dawson got the better out of ALL the exchanges in that fight. Inside and out. His right hook to the body and right uppercut hurt Adamek on numerous occasions. He got knocked down but was not hurt at all. And Adamek is fighting at cruiser now and was a BIG 175 pd guy.

 

Dawson does have very quick feet. When he attacks his speed is unreal, he just (much like Roy used to) prefers to slow the opponent with defense and attack explosively, where as Joe prefers to attack much more frequently and rely on work rate.

 

dawson has slightly faster hands, but calzaghe definitely has faster feet. any of you guys think there is truth in crack head floyd sr's claims that chad has a glass chin?

 

Dawson would be the one to do it. His defence isn't massively sound however.
