I don't know how someone "whoops that ass" but actually loses 4-5 rounds clearly. "Whooping that ass" would have to consist of knocking someone out or dominating 80% of the proceedings. Johnson had the momentum at the final bell but Chad won more rounds. Nobody whooped any ass, just a really good fight RealIzm. Oh, and I agree with your Pavlik - Hopkins prediction....you going? My wife and I are along with another couple.
Yea, I'm glad the polling has evened out...After I finished watching the fight and posting my score (Draw), I thought I was crazy cuz the polling was no joke 10 for Johnson, 0 for Dawson, 0 for draw.
That's an good scorecard, soxfan57. Judging from several fights, you're an excellent scorekeeper as far as I'm concerned. Damn good. The first time I saw this, informally I saw it for Dawson. This time I had it 116-115 Johnson. Some of these rounds were insanely close when you factor Johnson's clean economical shots and forward movement, versus Dawson's jabbing, combinations, workrate, and retreating. A draw is just about perfect. I had to score no less 3 even rounds myself, with the slight edge to Johnson. But again, a draw seems most just and extremely appropriate.
Johnson 115-113. One of those very close fights where I really felt bad for the loser, pretty much like in the JMM-PacMan rematch. Did everything he could to seemingly win very close, but I knew before they announced the cards that it's not enough being the less popular one... And in Glen's case you just can't say you win some and you lose some of the close one... he lost half a dozen fights that could've gone either way and won none... And what a great gentleman in defeat! Total class!
I was at the fight and had great seats. Glen landed the much harder shots and Dawson was lucky to survive. Glen 115-113
I had it 115-113 Dawson on my rewatch. A Draw would have been acceptable, but I don't think Johnson won it.
I think i had it 115-113 Johnson but the fight was so close it could have went either way, so I will not argue with the decision or somebody that felt Dawson won it.
