i just cant agree with you on the work rate thing. nobody can apply constant presure for 12 rounds like calzaghe. his work rate is his biggest asset. dawson's doesnt come close.
as for speed im not so sure either. dawson is quick in bursts. calzaghe is more consistant over 12 rounds. and for someone who is 37 that is imense.

I just looked at some you-tube vids of Dawson. If the fight would happen very soon (half a year) I would put my money on Calzaghe. (even with a 1/3 - which should be expected)

Styles make fights and Dawson has many advantages over Calzaghe. His skills are up to par with Calzaghe, he's bigger, and most likely hits harder. Dawson can match speed for speed with Calzaghe and he's going to hurt him. Calzaghe can't hurt Dawson unless he really sits on his punches, Dawson at this point is just too much for Calzaghe.

Dawson clearly won the first five rounds, (well at least most of them) you need to watch the fight again, because that's what he did. Even the commentators said so.

One thing that would be pretty interesting is the fact that they are both south-paws. I now agree with above poster who predicted Calzaghe stoppage: Adamek just knocked Dawson down (on youtube) - lol.

Well I see Joe trying to outwork Dawson but like I said most of his punches will be blocked with Dawson covering up and countering effectively. I also have to count in Joe's age since most likely the older he gets the more likely he wont keep up that pace.

Well of course it looked like he didnt have power since Dawson blocked most of his punches. :thumbsup

Tarver blocked a lot of punches himself but you could see Dawson hit with power and Tarver didn't have anything in power.Come on man don't tell me it ain't like that, you saw the fight.Tarver was kinda gone altough Dawson fought well
