Dawson is great! He is not stupid either. He can make a very good name for himself by fighting the have-been legends who are about to retire. After Johnson, he might take on Jones, and why not, Tarver...if he's around, Hopkins too! Wouldn't Dawson be considered a top p4p fighter in America if he beat all these legends? It's not like there are that many young, prime, unbeaten, hungry dangermen to challenge him...Diaconu is dismissed as crap. Kessler...well, he cannot be dismissed so easily, but I don't think Dawson will be in a rush to fight him.

Yes, but Johnson has better overall skills and has beaten better opposition.

I disagree that Johnson has better skills, and yes, he has beaten better opponents, you know why?

Because he got the chance to fight them, Briggs was ducked by Tarver for whatever reason and couldn`t get into the ring with a big name opponent.

Actually he doesn't have better overall skills. In April, when Dawson beats Johnson one sidedly, we can make sure we revisit this thread.

In a way yes, by playing along to Adamek's strenghts.

Semantics and convenience. When he wins, someone plays into his strengths. No credit for him of course. When he loses, he suddenly receives all the credit, and in a dubious manner.

I give him a lot of credit for his toughness but not for his boxing skills.

Dawson will beat Johnson, Diaconu, and hopefully, if Tarver decides to have a go, most definitely him too. Then, he will beat Hopkins, if he is still around! I cannot see anyone presently at 175 to derail Dawson. Kessler looks like the only one who could, but let's hope he finds good fights at 175 for the next 2-3 years.

He has good timing and a good jab. He has leaky defense. He has good punch selection and spacing. He has also has good power and good balance. He is an effective brawler and a good infighter because of the spacing. He also has very good stamina and workrate.
