Featuring Vic, after a lengthy period of Bumdine talking about his next fight.

What the mother****. Australians love their sport and love being proud of Australians doing well for themselves. Why is Vic trailing Bumdine?

Ask a non fight fan to name an Aussie boxer and what will they tell you? Will it be a top 20 pfp fighter or will it be the guy with a big mouth whose step up fight is against a domestic fighter?

Although I promised myself I wouldn't make another post about choc on these forums, this **** makes me really angry. Why isnt the news celebrating the best oz fighter of recent years and instead dwelling on Mundine?

As much as this is a non event, it really does deserve its own thread here.

Missed the ch 10 thing but fox sports is showing green comeback....then mundine/taylor...then vic looking for pac down the track. ...it looks like a aussie feast of boxing news.....ok by me.

However I know what ur saying...vic should get 10 times the press.

....and it's hard to understand why he isn't??

Kostya always seemed to get reasonable press - perhaps at first it was the rat tail and a bit of 'image' that put him in the media reports - not sure.

What you guys are forgetting though, is the Kostya came onto the scene right at the tail end of Fenechs career, when boxing in Australia was really big, and had received a lot of free to air coverage.

They promoted him heavily in Auatralia all the way from his pro debut also, meaning that he had a LOT of time to build up a following. Unlike Vic, who came onto the scene after being really quite well established as a fighter.

Kostya fed off a host of really impressive early KO's also against name opponents, which really helped build his reputation.

I think now that he has had a little bit of press he will start getting a lot more, the Donaire KO took a lot of shine of his indestructible persona.

Now that persona is starting to build again the accolades will come.
