Jr. doesnt need to retire. He won the fight, although by a razor's edge. He does need a Conditioning Coach, he does need to start training wearing a weighted vest, in very high altitudes. He needs to be up and awake at 5am, running the mountain trails, doing wind sprints, and duckwalks before breakfast, 5-7 miles a day. He needs to be sparring and conditioned for 15 rounds, EVERY single fight. In this fight, he was conditioned for a 6 rounder. He also needs a defensive specialist coach, one who can teach him how to evade blows, not take them face first.

One of the major set backs on the way to becoming an icon ... you're doubted ... thrown under the bus ... and turned away from ... once he has that career defining fight and has a shot at winning a title then he's going to be back in the good graces of the fans.

He can do it. Althought he took a beating, and barely won, he showed me a SHITLOAD of guts, and pride in that fight. He fought like a Mexican....except....

No stamina. The same kind of conditioning that Oscar de la Hoya had when he fought Felix Sturm. Why is Felix Sturm a Middleweight Champion today? Look at the guy, he is a ****ing ROCK who lives in the gym, and always shows up in super shape, ripped to the bone. And Oscar knew he was in crap condition for that WBO "win" so he got his ass back to the gym, he lost against Hopkins, but not because of stamina.

Julio Jr. looks SOFT. He has little muscle definition. I've seen an OLDER Chavez, and an OLDER Duran show up to fights more ripped than that. Roberto beat guys like Jorge Castro and went 48 rounds with Camacho and Paz at an elderly age, because he was in shape, in condition. Chavez, against Oscar the second time, at an elderly age was able to give Oscar a hard fight, because he trained for it.

Jr. needs to get his ass on the track, GET DOWN UNDER 154, and give Skeletor a rematch at some point, win, lose or draw, but be in condition to fight this time.

He is just fustrated because he couldn't knockout the guy, He now thinks that he is not ass good as his father that he had a lucky draw against a Mexican Journeyman, and now a luck win against a trailer park guy. He thinks i'm a joke of a fighter and need to retire before get embarrased.

by the way he has no need to rush he is streamly young and he is learning a lot.

No, he is done. I don't mean right now though. Mentally, as soon as he loses or gets dropped, he will retire. I can see him quiting on the stool already. Of course he is not ready for a top ten contender due to still learning. He lacks the fire power and killer instincts. Maybe a change of trainers would do the trick. He was sick. He father would say any excuse for him or himself when he was fighting. If Jr gets knocked out, "you don't understand, he had the flu all week". Stop using excuses and trying to get in the limelight of your son. He is a big boy now and doesn't need his father to talk for him or use excuses. He still has potential, but how can he put in 100% if he is trying to do it for daddy. He is making money, but so wasn't Camacho, Jr. until he screwed it up for himself. The money will soon disappear once he losses or disappoints the fans again.

This is likely what it is, but even with his relatively young age, it seems a little odd to react like that after a fight. Hopefully this isn't how he'll handle facing real uphill battles in the ring, or his first defeat.

That was just frustration talking. We have all been there...

On a side note it is never easy trying to follow in the footsteps of your father, especially when your father was a legend.

He does face a lot of heat, many times unfair, but that's not going to change. This is something he'll have to toughen through, just doing his thing in the ring and being ok with the stutter steps back on the way to the top.

If he retires tomarrow, he had a decent little run. He won a WBC Continental Americas belt and a WBC youth belt. He retires undefeated, and having made a nice little sum of cash, and fighting on PPV a bunch of times.

    But he isnt done yet.

I don't question his conditioning ... because his father said that he had a cold and was on the verge of canceling the fight.

He's from Mexico and i'm sure he trains at a high altitude and his stamina and endurance is there for sure.

I think its a matter of zero patience on behalf of fan .... but it goes on all the time with fighters who have the chance to be great. This man has zero amateur experience and is learning his way through ... at times the guy might not be better or have more talent but they had more schooling and been fighting alot longer than he has.

He's going to used to it ... he's seeing different styles many he has never seen before. He's getting a chance to see powerful fighters, aggressive fighters, boxers, fast guys, strong chin guys, great stamina and endurance guys ... this is going to benefit along the way.

As the years go by ... (22 yrs old) he's going to be able to handle everything once it comes time to take that step to the elite level.

I'm not sure where he's going to end up at during his championship reign but the thing that is for sure is that he's going to have alot of fan support.

SWW isn't the division to do it at ... if he can make WW its fine ... or pick the time to move up to the MW division.

He's gotten better every single fight that he's had since he started fighting.

He shouldn't retire when he's about a year or so from gaining a title --

I seriously doubt it. I guarantee it was the fact that Barrera embarassed him by not only giving him a boxing lesson, but by slamming that honker into the turnbuckle. Try watching it sometime, it's hilarious!!

HAHAHA!!! That mother****er got lighted up from the start of the fight until the end. He came down on the swing thinking he was ALLAH and left looking a PIÑATA after a 3 year old boy bday's party...:rofl :rofl

That was the funniest **** Ive seen in my 32 years of watching boxing.
