Matthysse or Garcia definitely have far more punching power than Malignaggi , especially Matthysse, which I think he hits more like 154 ponder. So yeah, Broner is a carefully-well matched fighter and his handlers want to pad his resume with known but less dangerous fighters. Malignaggi hasn't power even to knock out a ****ing fly. They jumped to 147 knowing that there are the big draws. Malignaggi then Paquiao / JMM and y'all got the idea . :yep
The Paulie fight seems to be perfect matchmaking by goldenboy it may answer some questions for both us fans and the promotional company going forward Can Broner bring his power at 147? Will his speed be the same? Malinaggi is somewhat of a name beating him gives Broner more buzz he had a great following in Atlantic City putting him in the Barclays seems smart This is his first fight after going up two divisions yes this is not Mosley moving up from 135 to 147 and taking on DLH but its somewhat of a risk nonetheless, if Broner is still fighting guys like Paulie in his say 3rd or 4th fight at 147 then I can see a problem Seems to be somewhat of a new style of fighter he is taking on someone that is slick will use the jab from time to time, probably want to test him out as I stated earlier Its very possible that guys like Matt, Garcia, Rios (who is under Top Rank) could move up soon 147 is not as dead as some think he can easily make interesting fights with guys already in the divisions like Alexander Gurrero, Thurman and maybe even Bradley and Marquez (if Top Rank ever act right) he can also move back to 140 after this fight Did I mention hes what 23 relax yall, yes guys like Mayweather and DLH spoiled us by taking on real fighters early in they careers, same applies for a guy like Alvarez who should not be rushed too fast himself.
hell yeah, its ducking. About 2 weeks ago, everybody know Paulie aint ****! That is why he wants to fight him!
You dudes are crazy! Broner has not fought nobody. He always says he is elite, he the best...well fight the best. Paulie is ranked number 16 in the welterweight class, and he is not an elite fighter. Broner is a good fighter but he has not fought NOBODY! Why dont youll wake you. Go to 140, and clear that division.
So you mean to tell me that 147 is better than 140 right now? Are you ****ing kidding me? 140- (Khan, Garcia, Judah, Matheyesse, Rios, Lamont Petterson) 147 (
Paulie, at his best, was never near elite, and now that he has faded, one can strongly argue that this is a b!tch move by Broener.
Whilst Paulie is certainly the weakest champ at 147 we have to give props to Broner for going up there for the fight. Beyond this fight I don't wanna see him campaign at 147, far too many good challenges at 140 and plenty of unfinished business at 135 too. If he stays at welter and fights **** comp then yeah, let's slate him. Until then i'm looking at it as a one off / opportunistic fight. Like it or not a win over Malignaggi does far more for his profile with casual fans than unification wins over Abril/Burns/Vasquez. He's being massaged for stardom so **** like this is to be expected. Best case scenario for real fans is that he loses, goes back to 135 and campaigns there with a new vigour, eager to regain standing and restore his pride. Before moving up to 140 where bthe great fights are.
so was berto, yet guerrero moved up two weight classes to fight him and nobody thought **** about that. Broner is simply doing the same thing, in fact its a brave move since he's moving up in weight to fight a champ for his first fight at 147.
Yeah he cherry picked the **** outta demarco, the #1 lightweight at the time. If Burns handlers werent scared shitless at the thoght of their guy gettin KTFO by Broner maybe he'd be fighting him? Also, i'd like to know which 140 lber that isn't ALREADY TIED UP that Broner can fight? At the end of the day, this is NOT a cherry pick, how someone can get criticized for jumping two divisions and going straight in with an experienced champion without testing the waters with a tune up is beyond me. Broner got balls and ducking aint in his DNA. Haters gon hate
Money fight for Broner. And none of the top guys at 140 are available. Wouldn't be suprised if he went back down,or fights one of the top 140 pounders at 147.
I love the Pacturds. The logic in Pacland - Skipping 140 to fight at 147 = Chickening out of 140 Fighting a guy @ 147 coming off 5 good wins = Cherry picking Pacland logic #3- Moving up to 147 means he's completely skipping the hot 140 division. It's not like he can move down right after. :dead Being 23 years old, moving up 2 weight divisions in 4 months = Easy (Pacland logic) Fighting DeMarco = Cherry picking Fighting Rees (A guy coming from 140 pounds) = Picking on a small guy (Pacland logic) Ok *******s KTFO6 This content is protected
