Now I know I'm going to get stick for this but hear me out. There's no doubting the skill disparity between these 2 is enormous, but stylistically I think the Chisora of the Helenius fight can cause Wlad more problems than anyone post Peter I. Having watched Wlad for many years now, to me his 2 greatest weaknesses are an inability to punch going backwards and his displeasure at being pressured. I appreciate that there's a considerable difference between Helenius and Wlad (most notably the jab), but if Chisora can fight the way he did against Helenius, he can give Wlad a really good fight. Of course Wlad's ram-rod jab wouldn't allow Chisora in as often as Helenius did, and Wlad would hold more in close than Helenius did; but the stylistic problem still exists for me. The one person I've always been confident in beating Wlad is Tyson; uses his lack of height to his advantage, bobbing and weaving to take away the jab and constant applied pressure with genuine punching power. Chisora isn't fit to wipe Mike's boots but the style issue remains. Chisora fought hard throwing good, strong punches (with plenty of wild ones) for 12 rounds and continued to walk forwards...I don't think Wlad likes that sort of fight. He's far more comfortable when he can control the pace and range of a fight. After the Haye fight I pointed out that you're safest against Wlad when you're coming towards him throwing punches. He doesn't throw the right-hand going backwards and he rarely uses that left-hook. When you come towards him he holds his arm out and waits to tie you up....he can't do damage like that. Please note I'm not saying in any way that Wlad was ducking Chisora, nor would I pick Chisora to win should they fight. At the moment though, this fight would excite me more than anyone else Wlad could fight at heavy, including Povetkin.
lol this will be another chance for Wlad to pick up an easy paycheck. Chisora would hit him maybe a couple of times in the whole fight. Chisora managed to do what a washed up Sam Peter and Liakhovich had already done, outbox Helenius. Difference is Chisora was tough enough to make it to the final bell. We all saw what happened when Chisora had to face a competent boxer. He lost a wide decision.
I don't think he'd be competitive with Wlad at all. He doesn't hit enough to surprise him with something big to even give him a decent punchers chance. Wlad would jabbed him to death, smother him and then drop one or two rights to stop him late.
To an extent I agree with those saying no and it's probably what I would've responded had someone else created the thread. The Peter comparison is one I think is pertinent though, Wlad CANNOT fight going backwards. Chisora, as average as he is does bring sustained pressure. I honestly think he's be more competetive than Povetkin.
