As limited as I feel Joyce can look sometimes, if he has someone in front of him that don't move much he is gonna pound on them. Style wise I have this a beatdown for Del Boy. Does Whyte not want it then ? Even if they've tripled the offer and its 250,000, surely he'd make a mil for the Whyte rematch ?? I think this proves Whyte doesn't want it with him ????
Odd move this even if the plan is for Chisora/Joyce in December on a Whyte/Ortiz card. There is little advantage to being with Haye over Hearn if you are going to be on a Matchroom card anyway. Unless Chisora/Joyce is on Dave (unlikely) then this whole deal seems rather pointless.
It’s a management deal, not a promotional one... Must be something appealing about Haye - maybe the links to ringstar in the US and potential for fights over there, ease of a Joyce fight, or just having a skilled negotiator on board in Haye. Also raises his profile...
Nice to see Haye and Chisora working together, as much as these guys put on a show in front of the camera I think they know what they’re doing, I’d probably favour chisora to beat whyte now. As much as I like whyte and I’m loving this run of wins he’s on I think AJ will blast him out and even Joe Joyce would eventually walk him down. Really enjoying the uk heavyweight scene at the moment
Still promoted by Matchroom managed by Haye. Sounds like he's getting all Hayes nutrionists etc as well. Hayes a great negotiator and seller. If the Whyte fight happens, Hayes mouth alone will bring in an extra few thousand buys.
It really bugs me when these shows like Haye has put on Dave does very little and bombs. I reckon if someone paid a bunch of us on this forum and gave us a chunk of cash we could quite easily put on a brilliant show with names and good matchmaking at York hall no problem
Just watched an interview with Haye and Chisora on Sky sports news from earlier today and it sounds like they're still going for the Whyte rematch. "Working hard for December 22nd" they said.
Anyone watch the interview in the Sky Sports studio. Made me chuckle. Haye " Derek rang me was asking me about my training my nutrition when I was fighting and he was impressed " Hahah aha the guy has had more injury and pull outs than any other boxer in recent memory!! then Chisora chirps in with something like" just look at the shape he comes in when he fights " Wtf? His last fight he looked like he was doing an impression of a waddling duck from the first bell he was injured as usual!! Just be honest with us all Del and you are impressed with how Haye has conned the public for years and made millions in doing so and you fancy some of that!!
I am sorry but I have to say this I could not live with myself or be an honest member of this parish if I did not say this As far as sports management goes David reminds me of Kenny Van Flammick I think he takes sports management lessons from him see below This content is protected
Thought Steve Goodwin done a tremendous job with Chisora especially after his defeat to Pulev - a career that looked like it was going nowhere.
Yeah I don't get this either I'm sure you don't need David as a manager to work out how he's ended up on PPV. To be honest it's also how he's marketed himself as a celebrity by making himself available for TV appearances. Dereck doesn't have that kind of connection with the British public.Regarding the nutrition side, there are a hell of a lot of good nutritionists out there who can get Chisora into shape. That don't require working with someone you don't really get on with. This is a strange one. All Dereck is doing is giving up another slice of purse to one of his long time rivals.
