Povetkin was all over the place in the first fight, too, because he was being hit to head and body. Doesn't equate to "serious illness". I don't use fairy tales to further my biases.
That's actually disgraceful that the fight happened. Apparently the BBBoC sanctioned it but I wonder how many BBBoC officials and doctors went out to Gibraltar, besides they aren't legit enough to care to stop a big fight like that. It's a scandal, really. Everyone knew he was in hospital twice for Covid, October-December, so who knows if he'd recovered much at all, and even a healthy a 41 year old fighter doesn't recover from training as well as a 31 year old,so his camp would have been non-existsnt, and he didn't look to have much stamina in the first fight anyway ....... and they were trying to rush the rematch even BEFORE he had the Covid. It's shocking really.
Remember when he raised the issue of PEDs when THE GREAT Manny Pacquiao beat Thurman ..... the exact same day after Whyte had beat Rivas .... fully aware that Whyte was being investigated "behind closed doors", obviously unaware that the Whyte story was about to be blown wide open ......
I would absolutely love for Levi Dunn to upset the applecart. Nothing against Campbell Hatton, who seems like a decent enough lad, I just don't like what I'm seeing.
I actually often forget how bad he can be, and almost kind of like him, he's such a slick tongued salesman, and he's so openly arrogant you almost get fooled into mistaking that for a degree of honesty ..... then when I remember some of those hypocritical things he says, shamelessly, and his constant BS, yeah, he's about the worst.
Campbell Hatton I’m sure will go nowhere. Like others said nothing against him. But you can see in his first fight that he just doesn’t have the skill set required to go far in the sport. Conor Benn was raw af to begin with but you could see that he had decent speed and power wary on. Can’t see Campbell Hatton making the same sort of improvements. And I can’t stand that he’s now being wheeled out on PPVs. His first fight was embarrassing to watch at times.
Yeah, he's done exactly that. And added the clause that if the fight falls through, it's everybody else's fault but his. It's incredible how many people lap it up !
Some of the comments in here regarding Hatton genuinely beggars belief. He's clearly got talent. Have you lot even seen the sparring footage? His body shots are wicked and send shivers down the back of my neck. I get goosebumps even thinking about them. I will admit that I am a bit biased, as I am a huge fan of his father, who for me is simply one of the greatest boxers ever, at least in Britain. Campbell has also got the charisma. He's got the gift of the gab. He worked his way onto PPV's not by his father but by holding down a full time job to feed his son, not leach off his father. His first bout was a bit of a scrappy one, but he could've got the guy out of there if he wanted to. He was knocking lumps out of him at one stage and decided to go easy on him. Let's get behind him ffs. He even initially refused to feature on the PPV but Hearn reeled him in and sold it to him. I have heard he even donated his purse to a local Man City Football Club legacy initiative.
I think people are just getting sick of the "son of one of Britain's most popular former world champions" gimmick. I mean, we've got TWO of 'em on this ****ing card.
But yeah, who knows, Campbell "The Meatball" Hatton, is just young, and could be going places. We don't know yet.
