You really, truly DKSAB, do you?

I mean some of the economics should be elementary.

Let's look at this. Wilder has a contract with GBP. They promote his fights. Along comes a Brit promoter with an offer for Wilder to fight in a bout he (not Golden Boy) is promoting.

In such a scenario, Wilder gets paid. Chisora gets paid. The Brit promoter makes out. And GBP, if it allows Wilder to take the fight, gets ZERO.

It's like saying Showtime should let Mayweather fight on HBO if it makes him happy. No, of course they shouldn't. Showtime is invested in Money May just as Golden Boy is invested in Wilder. (Yes, one is a TV network and one is a promoter, but you don't see Bob Arum lending out his fighters to make money for other promoters, do you?)

UNLESS, of course, the Brit promoter makes it worth it to GBP -- offering $$$, TV rights in America, etc., for allowing their fighter to fight on his card. It works the other way around, too: you can bet the promoter made out when Chisora fought for K2 when he fought Klitschko.

It's the way the business works.

My understanding si GBP's Schaefer made the "not interested" comments last week after the Brit promoter's original lowball offer. GBP then gave the Brit promoter conditions (monetary and otherwise) under which the fight could be made. I understand that the two sides are now close and this fight may work itself after all.

 the fight could be promoted by both sides. everyone gets paid. it's happened thousands of times. Frank has been around a long time, he knows what he's doing.

lowball offer? please tell me this lowball offer? i'm all ears.

Frank will do all the right things to get this fight on. money will be right. if it doesn't happen it's because they made their excuses and ran.

You're comparing Wilder to highly skilled and experienced fighters, which Wilder is not. He drops his hands and windmills because he doesn't know any better, not as part of some master plan. You say yourself that he lacks experience. If he had it he would know the danger of making such rookie mistakes.

I'm actually starting to warm to Wilder a bit, and hope he finally takes that much needed step up, but he's still horribly raw and needs to address his flaws before he does so, otherwise he's going to get very badly KOed somewhere down the line. Comparing him to Ali, Jones, Mayweather etc and ignoring his glaring weaknesses is not going to do him any good whatsoever.

you've got that a bit backwards. Wilder would end up on the canvas flat on his back against Wlad. not ending Wlad.

anyway, how's the work going over at YT? Joecalzaghethecoward is the name you go by over there. are you still sore down there? :blurp

    Ugh. How tiring this is....

First, he does NOT windmill. He only did it against Harrison once Harrison was in the ropes, and I suspect Wilder was trying to wow the crowd, to get some notoriety during a major broadcast. Tell me, in what fight, EVER, did Wilder throw multiple shots like that without landing most of them?

I'll wait while you go watch all of his fights. - but you won't find a single example. ... And yet you'll continue to post this silliness.
    -----------------

Second, he uses the "low hands" technique for the same reason as those other guys: (I can't believe you don't know this.) It saves energy, and it makes your punches much harder to see coming. If you are very fast AND have a long reach, it's a proven way to fight. Somewhat dangerous, but it has worked for many fighters.
    ---------------

Wilder's one big flaw is how he holds his chin. No one would argue that. Luckily, he has the speed and footwork to get away quickly, but a really, REALLY good counterpuncher might be able to make him pay for this flaw. We shall see.....

He did it against Greer too. Big, wild swings that took him off balance and left him wide open. Not sure why you think that's crowd pleasing. It looks amateurish to me, and borderline laughable.

Yes, it's very hard to find every one of Wilder's fights online. I've seen enough to form an opinion of the man at this point, though. He's capable of fighting with a degree of control, but he's also prone to getting overexcited and abandoning his technique. And this is against fighters who really possess little to no real threat to him.

He might do it for exactly those reasons, but he still doesn't possess one iota of the skill, experience or natural athleticism of any of those guys, and that makes what he's doing very risky indeed...

I'm not going to get on Jonty's case anymore, but I simply think he'd be better off using these nothing fights to get rounds in and iron out his flaws, not trying to wow the crowd with quick sloppy KOs. But at this point I can't see anything really changing.

Please say someone has said Wilder got arrested to duck Chisora :yep

In all seriousness Wilder Chisora is the kind of fight Wilder needs, it would answer his critics and be something different from anyone he has faced, Chisora doesn't get disheartened by power, he applies alot of pressure and apart from once lasts the 12 rounds.

Whereas for Chisora if he wins it's a good very good victory similar to Thompson's victory over Price where although the fighter they beat was inexperienced it still showed they have something left.

So far we dont even know if Wilder is any good! HE FOUGHT BUMS! How the **** should we know if he is any good? Look at Price. He fought better opposition than Wilder and still was looking impressiv. Then he fought TT and we all know what happened.

Wilder goes back in straight lines without making sure that his opponent cant follow up! He even JUMPS back at times. His chin is high up in the air he even follows with it when he throws a jab:!:. And this are the flaws I could see by the short fights he had against bums. What happens when he steps up and faces a decen journeyman? Let alone another prospect or even a contender.
EVERYTHING he has is this long ass and powerful right hand! Thats it! Thats what we know so far! We wont see anything else when Wilder continues to fight the bums he fought. Because this long right hand is enough to knock out bums.
But you sound like we could know anything about "his skills". Personally I wait until Wilder fights a decent opponent in order to say if he is any good or not.

Let me ask one question.... Why did Wilder faced all these bums? 28 fights and not onse single good name on his record. His best win is Fraudley for **** sake.:patsch:patsch
