Morrison was a bigger guy and had power. He suprised George with mobility.
Byrd did not have any power to bother George and he wasnt usually mobile he had a habit of sitting on the ropes making other fellows miss with his eel like movements. In other words he"s made for George circa 88-91 and his pulverising combinations on the ropes ..Foreman in the 1970s had a radar like few others...and Byrd was no Jimmy Young

Yes.plus those capable cruiserweights he beat ...Dwight Qawi...Bert Cooper...Big foot Martin...George threw sprightly combinations more like 70s Foreman..than the 93-94 version who had slowed down

Wouldn’t completely discount old George...if he did win it would be like the Moorer fight. Losing till he caught him.

Peak 73 Foreman is another animal entirely.

We're talking big ol' Burger George. This version of Foreman did well against guys that stuck around to be hit. As somebody mentioned earlier, guys like Pierre Coetzer, whose defence was blocking punches with their face. Byrd was like the anti - Old Foreman. He made guys look foolish with his movement, much faster guys than Old George.

Anybody that thinks Old Foreman should be favoured over Chris Byrd, straight up DKSAB.

I wouldn't completely discount him either. Slow as he was, Old Foreman still had that punch. That said, Byrd's chin > Moorer's chin.

Did not see the old part. I'm going to pick Byrd by decision.

I caught Byrd on a radio interview where he was bloody well convinced a prime George Foreman couldn't touch him, literally. And that needs to be respected.

Obviously Prime Foreman cuts through like a knife through butter or like an Ibeabuchi through Byrd.

But Old Foreman was a much diminished fighter and the fact he was able to knockout the HW champion just speaks volumes about his greatness.

There will be those on here who try to tell you Foreman was better in his comeback than his prime. Ignore them all.

Old Foreman loses a shutout to Byrd.

Why couldn't Byrd beat an old , slow and well past prime Golota by shutout?

The past prime Golota who most thought beat Byrd was annihilated 4 years earlier by Mike Tyson's ghost. Brewster destroyed Golota right after his fight with Byrd.

If that Golota could beat Byrd , Foreman would obliterate him.

Foreman was faster , more relentless , more dangerous and overall far better than the mentally and physically past prime Golota who Byrd could not defeat.

Commentator - George is quicker than in his 19 fights during his comeback.

I was picking the best version of Byrd.

    Circa 97-2002

Ad Byrd gets older, less mobile and slower then of course Old Foreman has a better chance.
