How on earth did he get exposed. We knew how he was going to box and he executed it. Canelo was equally embarrassing in there, couldn’t cut him off and had to rely on a few bodyshots every round to nick the rounds. On the basis of the Scull fight at the weekend I’m more convinced than ever that the Benn sparring takes were complete hyperbole. If Canelo can’t cut the ring off and unload on an elusive Cuban like Scull how on earth is it believable that Conor Benn did? Even in sparring when Scull was likely working himself into shape. For me it’s pretty clear that Scull agreed to an 8 round spar and when he completed the rounds Nigel Benn wanked himself silly to convince himself that Scull had “quit”. It was all utter nonsense and the Canelo fight confirmed it without doubt. In an actual mental catchweight bout at like 166lbs Scull would stop Benn with ease by just clinically peppering him from range on the head. Benn’s face would be a swollen mess.
Benn is going to take nothing but novelty fights from here on. The people around him know he's never going to become a world class fighter. If the rematch with Eubank doesn't happen expect Kell Brook or Amir Khan to be dug up. There's never been anybody in sport that I remember living off the family name like this. He's the Prince Harry of boxing.
He wasn’t “exposed”. Everyone knew he was going to do that. Canelo didn’t expose any of his limitations, Scull just didn’t want to engage and fought on his own terms for the entire fight. That’s not what being exposed is.

A good behind the scenes video, a nice reminder of the Benns, Saunders and Hearn being humbled! Just ignore the Matchroom editing making it look closer than it was. This content is protected
I’d have him the slight favourite too. Although AJ’s random mystery injuries suggest he’s ducking Saunders too.
