calzaghe is a HOFer , and the king of the great british super middleweight era. Unlike Benn,Eubank, Watson etc who will never been in the hof or remembered as great, they were just very good fighters that's it, no greatness. You really need to deal with that. Ignored

Jackson and Barkley couldn't get licensed to fight in the UK because of their eye injuries, and Kalambay and Nunn kept losing. Hearns? Wasn't he at light-heavy or cruiser by then and about 35-40? It would've been disrespectful for Eubank to fight him, surely.

When Eubank signed the SKY deal, it eliminated McClellan because SKY were affiliated with HBO at the time and not Showtime until post-Benn/McClellan, and Toney and Jones had already been pencilled in to face eachother first before Eubank. None of these fighters were ever mandatory for Eubank's belt, so he didn't duck them.

When he made his comeback he made it clear he wanted to face Jones and Toney, but had to settle for Calzaghe and Thompson in the end, because Jones (and Toney) wisely avoided him.

 

Steve Collins really did throw a spanner in the works. There was a lot of hype about Eubank and Roy Jones on a collision course, after Eubank's breathtaking performance against Wharton.

What is wrong with people like The Damn Guy. He lives in his own imaginary world who hates anyone that disagrees with his opinions. He's now coming out with this imaginary racism card. I like Froch and I want Kovalev to beat Bhop. But I also like Pac and one of my all-time fav boxers is RJJ.

People are so stuck in fanboyism that they can't look past it. I like Calz as a boxer and think he is one of the best, but I dislike the way he went about his business. I much prefer Froch who go out there and put it all on the line, take the risks and give us great fights.

As a boxing fan, watching great fights is what it's all about for me.

 

Broadly speaking, prior to Eubank vs Watson 2 and the incident where he killed a road worker in his artic wagon which was roughly he same time, Eubank was pretty much unstoppable with a respectable KO %. After those 2 shattering incidents he never seemed to have the same killer instinct or desire. However, saying he is overrated is a nonsense. At no point in his career was he overwhelmed or Ko'd and participated in dome of the most savage fights I've ever seen.

 

Not nutt hugging every white fighter to come out of England does not make you racist you simple little man.

Some of us just disregard race all together and support the fighters we like, regardless of the color of their skin.

Eubank came up legit and chin included, was still one of the most formidable and skillful boxwrs from these shores. Everybody in boxing knows he's an eccentric renegade but pays him the utmost respect for his semi-miraculos endeavors in the ring. The OP is nothing in comparison.
