No it would not, Ward would shut Eubank out.

Eubank ekes out a close decision.

Groves can't hurt Eubanks Sr and backs off, Eubanks in control doesn't feel any great urgency to push the pace and a dull decision follows. This is fight between two counter-punches and has the potential to be a technical snoozer. Eubanks by UD. Eubanks often fought to the level of his opposition but if the aggressive Groves from the first Froch fight comes out he gets stopped in the mid rounds. Groves is a reflexive counterpuncher who is best coming forward. He can't do that here vs Eubanks All time chin. Eubanks when pressed can brawl with the best of them but he needs a dance partner to push him out of his comfort zone. Groves doesn't have the tools to do that.

dunno, i feel we've not seen peak 2G yet.

whereas we seen the best eubank, that was the high calibre but tragic brit triumvirate of the 90s (+ Stevie C).

    The ****?

Eubank Snr would beat Groves out of his socks.

These are the four men to have picked Groves to win by Knockout:

I'm giving them 24 hrs to recant, then it's a ban.

Its not a guarantee that. Eubank Snr was a British great but an average world champion on the world scene. Avoided all the dangerous Americans

    As opposed to what??

Groves lost to Jack and Froch.

Arguments as to who was better out of Froch and Benn are alive.

Groves is a British great but an average world champion but instead of knocking out Benn he beat Eubank Junior on points.

    Best fighter Groves beat?

    Best fighter Eubank beat?

Regardless, picking Groves to stop Eubank is obscene. Guy held big shots at cruiser.

Don't dispute that, but Groves is skilled enough and cute enough to compete with Snr, and its not out the question he beats him at 168 ! Snr was a bit of a monster at Middle when he was hungry, but I don't think he beats Groves out of his socks at super middle.

I'd happily pick Benn and Watson to thrash Groves.

But OK you clearly understand what you're talking about and an opinion is just that.

I pick Eubank senior here, but I am liking Groves at the moment.

He might well be the lineal champion if his shoulder bounces back!
