I don't at all. he is a great fighter ...

But the 1995 version of him could very well be kTFO by GMAN..

In 31 fights he had 20 first round knock outs ..... and he really really put people to sleep....

His resume was weak but that is probably because he genuinely didn't give a **** about who was on his record or about boxing really. He saw boxing as way to make money, and thats it. And he was so pompous that he saw himself as the best anyway.

I think he did until 1991, then his attitude changed, with good reason.

Yeah, same happened with Benn. Really took the edge off them both.

But with Eubank, I just get the impression that he was doing it purely for money, for example, his comments on doing an autobiography (I think that was him).

Everyone knows this. Eubank could not give a dam about hi legacy and the fact he underachieved. He was in it just for the money and had no real sporting ambition post winning the MW title.

Eubank would not have been knocked out, he didn't get knocked down against Benn in 2 fights and his power is only just below McClellan's. He got knocked down by Watson but that was mainly down to exhaustion and got knocked down by Calzaghe which was a shock for Eubank but Calzaghe was a bigger puncher back then.

Anyway close decision for Eubank in 1995.
Before Watson II would be a KO for Eubank in the later rounds.

Eubank would have ****ed McLellan up no doubt in my mind. Benn could be discouraged and/or stopped, Eubank couldn't. He had an iron chin, and an iron will to go with it. He wasn't the same in 1995 that he was before the Watson fight but no way would he get stopped by McLellan, no way in hell. Eubank by late rounds brutal KO.

  10. Agree. Gerald was also just 27 when he fought Benn and it was really his first fight at super middle weight against a fighter with a pulse (yeah, he fought some weak opponents at 168 a couple times 3- 5 years prior). Gerald was a tremendous puncher and certainly could have gotten the KO if anyone could have pulled that off. Gerald might have been really something at 30-32 at SMW. He gave Benn a hell of a fight straight from middle weight with no warm up fight (contemplated) to acclimate to the division. He would have whupped JC's ass, too.

I'm not sure that he had less power...look at his early fights...Eubank had vicious power.

    McClellan UD.

I'm sorry, but he was simply better than Eubank in EVERY way (apart from chin and lateral movement, which is useless when you don't throw any ****ing punches).

I remember clearly the first Eubank v Benn fight. Nige hit him with everything but the kitchen sink - Eubank's mouth was ripped to shreds, but there was no way he would be ko'd. I haven't seen many men take flush punches (especially against a beast like Benn) and simply shrug them off. I think the Calzaghe knockdown was more do do with balance personally.
