In his most two recent fights, he's shown great skill, great ability, and a good chin ... I would like to see more of him ... he should be the ring magazine champion given he's one of the longest reigning champions in boxing right now ... he isn't on anyone's p4p list either !!

Should he move up in weight and fight some good super featherweights ... maybe Guerrero ... maybe Linares ... maybe Gamboa ... maybe Marquez ... maybe Vasquez ...

    What do you guys think?

He doesn't fully commit to his punches ... I think he has power but he makes it seem that he's just concerned on scoring and nothing else.

I'm with you Fitz, he should move up and try to make a fight with Guerrero or Marquez. Those would be great fights to watch. I like John, he's a slick boxer who puts his punches together well. I think his only negative may be lack of one-punch power.....but with his boxing skills, it's a non-factor. 42 wins with 22 by KO, i think.... so he's not Malinaggi, he's got some power. Just have to wonder how that would affect him moving up. But I agree with you, I think if he wants to become a household name (outside of boxing circles, he is not), he needs to score a couple of wins over some quality opponents, including any of the names you listed.

It looks like to me he plays possum ... he looks tired but keeps punching ... it reminds me of a high volume guy who doesn't get tired.

Was he not supposed to fight Gamboa already? Or did John get cold feet?

It must not have been mandated ... I think that John has been turned into the "super" world champion and Gamboa's interim title has been turned into the "regular" title

I thought he looked like ****, Rocky is a very one dimensional fighter, and he almost got KO'd at the end, he's lucky they only fight 12 rounds... he holds too damn much as well.

I haven't seen the Marquez fight, but it's hard to believe he beat Marquez.. he will lose to Gamboa, Izzy, Raffy, Juanma, Soto, Linares, or Guerrero. I'd even favor Ponce De Leon over him.

I think as far as him almost getting knocked out, if he wasn't in good shape and didn't have a good chin, then he would've went down ... and he didn't touch the canvas at all last night.

    He's been a champion for 6 yrs ... 43-0-2 ... 13 title defenses ... 11-0-2 in title fights ... I'm sure those 2 draws were some bull**** but they're on his rercord

John has the experience to deal with anyone in the featherweight classes ... I would like to see him fight someone like Guerrero ... "the ghost" impressed me his last fight ... I don't think much of Guerrero but he came through and fought good his last fight against Classen ... I question his ability to take punishment but he can box and he out hustle someone to get the win.
