IB's RBR could have been better if ESB has faster servers during great events. just like the vitali-chisora fight, site was slow-ass, slower-than-sloth fast.

    IB you da man

    Possible, I guess. :think

You'll note that all prior Maravilla events are conspicuously absent, though.

Martinez vs. Williams I - 582 (thread started by MemoCan)
Martinez vs. Pavlik - 548 (thread started by See Me Flow)
Martinez vs. Williams II - 313
    Martinez vs. Dzinziruk - 113
    Martinez vs. Barker - 682

None close to the top twenty.

What will be so different about this? Just being on St. Patty's day? Without there being a big Irish name like Lee on the card? (as there was for Martinez vs. Barker - it was the Vera rematch). Does Macklin bring that much more of the British fan base than did Barker?

Plus, it's worth bearing in mind that most of the top threads are big-league promotions - either Top Rank or Golden Boy or both in conjunction. Both of them (especially Top Rank) often start streaming their undercards several hours before the main broadcast airs, which gives them a good healthy jump start. #1 Cotto vs. Margarito II, #3 Salido vs. Lopez II, and #3 Pacquiao vs. Marquez III - all Top Rank, and all had lengthy Top Rank Live Stream undercards to help build up their momentum.

Lou DiBella to my recollection doesn't do that. Besides, the undercard itself isn't that amazing.

"La Bomba" vs. "Da Bomb" is a nice little slugfest, but other than that? Kind of a tepid card.

I'd say at most it does about as well as Martinez vs. Barker - just shy of 700 replies.

True......and that´s weird.....even more weird if you consider that Burns vs Katsidis is a top 20 :think
Yeah, possibly a top 10 is too much....or even a top 15.....I always wanted to watch Martinez vs Macklin, I´m really looking forward to it....

Slowness and freeze-outs resulting from server crashes have some effect, but overall I think that the popularity of heavyweight events on ESB is accurately reflected in their low reply numbers.

We have many diehard fans, which means we have people who recognize that the best of boxing usually occurs below 200lbs.

Oh, but perhaps there is one thing to consider IB.....Some of these Martinez fights were in the same hour than others fights IIRC:think:....I remember I didn´t watch live vs Dzin because I was watching Cotto vs Mayorga...

That is an astute point. :good

Martinez vs. Macklin will have no competition on the other major American networks.

This is nothing scheduled on Showtime nor on NBC Sports that night.

Maybe a bit over 700. :yep

wow. That is so cool IB. Your RBR remind me of the days running listening to baseball games in the summer on my walkman. Sometimes better than actually watching the fight myself, and that you did this for people like myself that read as many of your RBR's as possible, I thank you for your time. Awesome.
