The Ali worship, particularly the diminishing of Frazier 's and Norton's victories over him because they didn't happen in '67-70. Head movement was the key to beating Ali, and I think Ken and Joe could've beaten him in his mythical prime.
Actually the Duran Leonard thing becomes even more bizarre in the "documentary " which featured Leonard somewhat recently traveling to Panama to visit Duran so DURAN could get closure. Insane. Lenny was a great, great fighter, but he truly is a world class *******. You should see that "documentary " lol
The same 4-5 posters who constantly spam the Classics with multiple threads. Fortunately, one of them has been banned recently - and hopefully it’s permanent. We know one of the biggest offenders is a sperg. The others are either fellow spergs, narcissists, completely unself-aware or just trolls. Right now as I type there’s a guy with at least 5, maybe even 6 threads on page 1.
Mythical matches. Far, FAR too many. I suppose the forum isn’t “boxing history” but it should lean towards that. Hypothetical situations that can never be proven and don’t matter at all. In the same light, far too many “what if” scenarios. Too much Tyson, too much heavyweight talk in general IMO. Something that’s a little bothersome to me is the threads that people seem to genuinely learn from and have fantastic insights, with great researchers fizzle out quickly and don’t have enough participation because a hotter subject is what would have happened if Max Baer had fought Ike Ibeabuchi or what Mike Tyson would have done if he wore his lucky boxer shorts when he fought Douglas or prime Foreman.
That is me, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I respect what you believe, I have been watching boxing since 1965. I prefer the fighters from the past, you might prefer the fighter's of today. I do consider you a quality poster my friend.
I do think that we need to respect one another's opinions. And if we disagree with one another that is fine too but we can be respectful. It is distasteful when we name call when we disagree with each other, that is called computer courage. We are adults, if we choose to debate that is fine but I choose not to, my name is not President Donald J Trump or President Elect Joseph R. Biden.
Agreed. It's an opinion (that Ali beats Norton and Frazier 67-70) and a very very viable one. Possibly the most favored one. Hard to get peeved at an extremely valid opinion.
My opinion is different, but again I respect everyone's opinion if that is their opinion. of that mythical match. Everyone is an individual, we do not always think alike, and that is okay.
So you think first career Ali loses to Frazier and Norton? I did mean "that" instead of "than". Either train is boardable with good reasoning.
People who create multiple threads and simply ask " who wins this matchup " then offer no further input. People who create a thread then retype the exact same title in the opening post....really no need.....we got it the first time. Hairdressers with thin arms and long necks. Those that feel the need to constantly remind us that Liston " quit ".
