You serious? Quartey has better workrate, a busier and better jab, and more power to boot. He was an excellent boxer-puncher at his very best. A far more effective fighter across the board.
You forgot speed, the key difference between them imo. Well you didn't really forget, since you did say across the board Ike is better. But I think Ike is much quicker with his hands than Clottey.
Yeah I know. Quartey was a good fighter. Clottey can just do a little more in my opinion. Hes got better defense, and he can do a little more than move forward in a straight line behind a good jab and righthand. His time will come, but like Clottey, Quartey lost to pretty much every fighter he stepped up against.
Quartey could circle and generally keep his distance behind the jab. Clottey wasn't doing "a little bit more" against Cotto. Thats what cost him the fight. He simply switched off after having a good round, the 8th. Clottey's jab isn't thrown as much as Quartey's, it's also not as fast or accurate. Quartey's hands are quicker and he's a better puncher.

nah he fought robotically. I didnt see any blinding speed from him either. Just a good strong strong welterweight with a good jab and right hand. He was always stronger than most of his opponents, and thats what made him effective. He never beat any world beaters, almost lost to Lopez too.
