Well part of that is true, because of his lack of reach. Sometimes he has to put himself into range to land or he takes a shot to give one, but its not because he wants to give the crowd a show, and really he could prevent that by having better technique coming forward, feinting moving his head and upper body better, etc. He can correct that problem.
That, of course, goes both ways. Floyd had some early trouble with Judah, with his southpaw style, and was badly hurt by Mosley. Both are of course clearly inferior to Manny. In both fights Floyd needed some rounds to adapt. That would be costly against Pac.
Yes but Mayweather was being uncharacteristically aggressive against Mosley. Against Pac you wont see any of that, because Pac is short and will be forced to bring the fight to Mayweather. He cant fight any other way. Judah is actually a better counterpuncher than he is aggressive. Mosley, I dont know why Floyd fought him that way early, I guess he didnt respect his power, but with Pac he 100% will be overly defensive and exploit Pacs lack of reach.
Both of them will be more careful against the other than they have been against other opponents. Just saying that the whole "if x did that, then what would y do" certainly works both ways. It's also a bit nitpicking since Pac has totally dominated his opposition. Of course, there will always be instances of punches landed that could have been avoided etc, but it's realistically very hard to make a greater statement than he has been making against his 140-150 lbs opponents.
I'm favouring Floyd now by UD but each day that passes I'm leaning more towards Manny. Let's just hope it's a good fight. I mean ultra-mega fights like Tito-DLH were snorefests.
Im not nitpicking anything, and as you said hes dominating, but I still see some things as many do that will create more of a challenge for him if he faces fighters with different styles like a Mayweather or Khan for example. Less offensive fighters who are going to hang back and look to box at range and counterpunch. I hope Mayweathers the next fight. If he fights Mosley its going to be the same thing again.
Oh yes, Floyd will present something quite new, in style but moreso in quality. But that also goes both ways. Floyd has never faced as good an agressive fighter, either. A guy that will outspeed him, probably quite clearly. One moment like the one against Mosley may prove fatal.
I dont think Manny will outspeed him, plus sharp counterpunching offsets speed and aggression. Yes Pac will be his best opponent but I dont think Mayweather takes any kind of chances he did against Mosley unless Pac is a sitting duck late in the fight. Floyd will wait for Manny to bring the fight to him, unlike all of Manny's previous three or four fights.
Not only that, Clottey was still pressuring Pac right in front of him with his hands up. Theres really no difference.
