all the critics of Cleverly say that he gets hit to easialy and can be sloppy. He has never had fitness issues. surley if Cleverly can spend more time concentrating on boxing he can improve his defence and all round boxing skills.

In 12 months it still only sells 10,000 for a WBO title.

Give Cleverly a few defences, or Bellew a belt, you got a mega fight.

Theres no reason for this fight to happen in the next 18 months as I don't see either loseing.

    Or not doing very well!

I was doing maths at Kings College London last year and it was intense, I've changed to Economics now though, still a lot of work. In first year you can kinda get away with doing little work but not from then onwards, if he's doing well in his degree he'll be working hard!

Being a European champ and in full time studies can't be good for anyone.

I would love to see him get with a top trainer too.

I agree. He's done very well as it is and to get the Euro belt, before turning pro full time, can surely only mean he'll improve when he can focus fully on boxing!? I'd love to see him with a top trainer.

As for the Bellew fight, everyone wants to see this asap, but i'd be more inclined to keep them apart for a good while yet and let them fight further down the line when the stakes could be much much higher.

    I'd have them fight now.

There's no point in them both beating soft opponents for two years ''just to make it bigger''.

    Just do it already.

So many of these fights never happen because one becomes a big name and lets his ego get in the way (Hatton vs Witter) or because someone gets beat and is on the ''who needs him'' list (Hatton vs Witter again).

Cleverly has the European, and the British I think..... let Bellew challenge for both.

I'd guess the only problem is that there isn't a big card to shove it on, and neither are that big themselves to sell 20k.... but who is?

Mitchell probably only sold as many as he did because of the large ex-pat Aussie community in London and because the card was stacked.

Get it done. It's a good fight, but let's not kid ourselves that it's a Lewis/Bruno or a Benn/Eubank type fight, it ain't.

Maybe in a years time it could be ideal time for this fight, as both men continue beating the guys frank puts em in with, could be a kind of unofficial eliminator to see which fighter from britain gets the first go at the WBO

EDIT: I think Clev vacated the british as well as the commonwealth, which bellew now has

No, seriously.... it's a good job none of you lads are promoting because no decent fights would ever happen!

Not every good fight can be a title fight, Moore vs Rhodes was the best British fight of last year by miles, and was a high risk/medium reward type fight for both of them. Both were in the top 10 of more than one alphabet, it would have been easy to say ''let's do it later'', but we'd have missed out on one of the best fights in recent years.... because as we know Moore has called it a day and Rhodes isn't guaranteed by any means to even get a shot, never mind win!

Look at Macklin, doesn't for whatever reason see the Barker fight as lucrative enough.... so is instead sat on his arse waiting for a good fight to come up. In the meantime Barker wins the Euro (I've not seen the fight so can't comment) and will have a number of options.

Andy Lee and Duddy have both faced their share of bus drivers..... when they could have fought - Macklin and Barker might have been able to make a series of fights with them.

I think Cleverly and Bellew have a different mindset to the likes of Lee and Duddy.

to be fair Macklin was promised bigger fights.

No promoter in their right mind would have them fight now.

Why have them fight on somebody's undercard when, in 18 months time, relatively risk free, you could have them fight in the Millenium Stadium, with a bit of a Wales - England angle and sell 25-30,000 tickets.
