He played right into fonfara's hand by staying in the pocket all night and going toe to toe. Fonfara doesn't like fighters coming in at angles but cleverly went in with his usual one dimensional gameplan. It worked at domestic and european level but at world level you can't hope to stand in front of your of all your opponent all night with your gloves up tightly closed, doing pitta patter combinations and not be a power puncher. Yes cleverly showed toughness and determination to come back after his nose getting broken but he should have changed his gameplan to move circles around fonfara all night and take advantage that he is the faster more agile fighter. But he stood there like he's a no good brawler with limited ability There was glimpses of the cleverly of old, but that's not enough. He took a unnecessary beat down tonight, could have came out of the fight with his face in tact if his camp came out with the right tactics.
Yes don't know his name maybe Darren something was his fitness trainer now full time coach, maybe start there, put your hand in your pocket get out your comfort zone and go to a top trainer.
Cleverly has never really been that good. Got some decent wins like Murat & Mohammedi but he's never really looked impressive. Picks his shots quite well but he's just too one dimensional, lacks power and isn't even that quick.
It was cringey listening to Adam Smith trying to justify Cleverly eating all them punches. Like Groves thought he could do it all without having a decent coach. Think he could've beat him pretty comfortably if he actually had a game plan and tried to box him.
I don't even know who the guy is where you're that you seem to think is the holy grail of exclusive boxing knowledge Show me this thread, because I have no idea what you are on about you
I am talking about this very thread you basically just copied the sky commentary and made a thread passing it as your own, acting like your a technical boxing genius lol
I din't watch the fight on sky, I watched it on a ****ty stream and all I could hear was the commentators fawning about how brave cleverly was. Nothing about his gameplan being one dimensional
