I think Clev will get off the floor to win a close one on the cards

clev wins either by convincing points win or late stoppage with kovalev exhausted by his world class work rate.

this forum will be devastated to find out they have mugged off and underestimated potentially the best fighter we have in the uk.

Cleverly on points but it will be a close one. I just think Cleverly is good enough to defend himself and avoid Kovalev's power punches and has a decent enough chin to withstand the occasional one if he does get hit.

I can only see a Cleverly win points or maybe even a a late stoppage.

I am not a fan of Cleverly but I think he will just be too quick and just throw too many punches for Kovalev.

I dont think Clevs ready, i think hell get a big shock like all warrwen fighters.. They hype themselves up and start thinking theyre great knocking over bums... Kovalev looks a different class to me, the way he moves about the ring an stalks you down is class... I think hell win KO rnd 6

It appears that Cleverly is counting on his personal referee to interfere with the fight to help him, not to mention Cleverly's judges........

Does Cleverly have a rematch clause?

I think Cleverly is going to have to have to have a very high work rate if he is to tire Kovalev out. This could be a problem since Cleverly often gets reckless while he is operating at a high pace and Kovalev can not only bang but finish hurt opponents. If Cleverly is hurt early on he could be feeling the accumulative damage of Kovalev's work just as much as Kovalev is feeling the pace Cleverly sets by the later stages. There are certainly question marks over Kovalev's durability but I think his boxing ability is being over looked by some. He may be able to control the pace with his power and his boxing. It's such a tough fight to call because either one could surprise in a posative or negative way in any of the areas where they are unproven. I'm really struggling to pick a winner.

This sums it up perfectly really, there are so many imponderable that in reality none of us and probably neither of the boxers have any real idea what will happen here. Cleverly cannot know how he will handle Kov's power and the Russian has no real idea how he will cope in the championship rounds should it go that far.

Good fight, lets hope it lives upto the build up.

This is how fights should be. Competitive battles with high stakes. Two undefeated world class opponents. The fans are the winner here. :good

I dont think clev will be safe anywhere in the ring.... Kovalev looks like he does everything better, hits harder, more dynamic, throws from crazy angles, has power in both hands... Unless clev turns into mayweather over night hes gunna have to stand his ground and fight back....

If Clev can keep him off with boxing skills for ten rounds.....Cal vs Lacey, I think he might get a late stoppage....but as long as he wins I don't care how he does it!

if you look at kovalev's last three fights since he stepped up in class its worth looking at them from the point of view that hypothetically kovalev didnt have devastating power and what then would you be left with?...............the answer is he outboxed three top ten light heavy's for every minute of every round.

clev looked **** scared at the weigh in also.........easy night for the krusher.

Yeah. Kovalev looks cool. He's hearing all sorts of claims about his stamina, chin and how he is going to be out boxed. He probably knows himself what he needs to do, that is to hit Cleverly as hard and as many times as possible, as quickly as possible. I think Cleverly will be really surprised how hard Kovalev hits. The shock on Campillo, White and Thompson's faces was clearly visible. This is not just one lucky punch we are talking about, Kovalev will throw power punches from angles in combinations, they don't have to land clean to have an effect. Cleverly cannot stay away for all the fight and I think he does not have the power or physical capacity to deal with Kovalev. The guy looks much stronger than the other fighters Cleverly has faced.
