I see your point, I don't doubt that Froch's run of 6 opponents are of some quality.... But his last 2.....1 Johnson who was shot at 42, and Abraham has been found out at supper middleweight (a run of 3 poor performances), you could also argue Kessler was 'damaged' (but I don't totally agree with that).
I wouldn't call Johnson shot, he still pulls the trigger and mixes it up. I think he's just old, he doesn't pressure the way he did when he was in his mid 30s, he can't punch with the same volume, etc., at any rate he's always game and is still hard to just go out and expect to outclass. Abraham, totally agree with. I don't think Kessler is as good as he was a few years back, but he's obviously still pretty damn good. In the end, on those 6 fights, the only one I'd consider "easy" in light of Froch's abilities would be the Abraham fight. In the Hatton lineup, I would consider Urango, Lazcano, and to a lesser extent Malinaggi wins "easy".
Yeah i agree on this, it was a dreadful "victory" but should have been a victory nonetheless for Dirrell, i just think the nature of the performance allows the decision to be forgivable
If ****** isn't careful then Cleverly will get ****ed off and should he amount to much, he'll jump ship. Clev is talented, hungry and wants to test himself. I bet he's sick and tired of seeing Khan, Hopkins, Dawson, Pascal involved in big fights. Winning a "world" title will keep him happy for a while but deep down these guys know their careers are being heavily managed,manafactured,protected etc Clev isn't unhappy yet but the signs are there.
People can say what you want about Abraham but his power and Frochs defense meant a considerable number of people thought this would be it for Froch. Not only beat him he dominated him and i think if hed stepped it up he wouldve stopped him. its all about styles.
It's true, many current fighters have gone on to have tougher run of opponents. i.e. Pacquiao and Cotto.... Plus it's irrelevant because it should matter what you have done overall in your career i.e. Someone could beat an elite fighter then have 6 fights against average/good opponents then beat another 2 elite fighters etc.
I like Cleverley but he needs to fight someone decent and prove himslef before even trying to call himself the number 1 Brit.
