Really love watching Davila work--such a great technician. Fight against Zarate didn't go so well because he was so physically overmatched but he had a few great moments, including this stretch of action in the 4th.

I wonder what there actual heights are. Zarate is usually listed at 5'10" and Davila I've seen listed at 5'3". While the height difference is significant, no way is it 7 inches.

Smelling salts in Zarate's corner afterward. I think that was still legal at the time maybe.

Boxrec has him at 5'8, which seems about right to me. He seemed a couple inches taller than Gomez, who's 5'5-5'6.

I was watching some youtube footage of Zarate yesterday

It appeared he got screwed against Pintor. He dropped Pintor and seemed to win by at least a few rounds.

I felt that that one could've gone either way. Lots of extremely close rounds.

Zarate was one of the greatest bantamweights of all time , even Pintor was embarrassed when given the nod over Zarate

I watched Zarate-Pintor live and felt it was a forgone conclusion that the champion had won going away. I was not going to stick around for the decision. However I did and everyone's jaw including my own dropped open in aghast that the decision went to the thoroughly outboxed challenger. It still is ranked as one of the worst decisions in boxing history.
