margarito broke clottey's hands with loaded wraps? that's called a stretch:yep. he shouldnt of gotten dq'd against baldomir, a little home cooking in that situation, but in retrospect, he should've beaten baldomir clearly. I was at the cotto fight, and he should've stepped it up against a wounded cotto, still haunted by the loss to margarito. he had cotto in a vulnerable position and didnt step it up, and for that, since it was completely inexplicable, he's a disgrace. also, he simply did not take risks against manny. he was a naturally bigger guy with ability, in the biggest fight of his life, and he kept his arms glued to his sides in a defensive position. that's disgraceful. he's a disgrace because he's had big opportunities and fell short, or didn't perform like he should've, win or lose, because of reasons unknown. that's disgraceful. azumah nelson never had that problem, and neither did ike quartey. joshua clottey, because of his mental incapabilities, is a disgrace to the hard fighters of ghana.

 that "broken hand" is just going off of what he said

true, i agree, but does that mean **** drinker is a disgrace as well? many people had him "schooling" manny, why didn't he "go for it". he was back in one of the biggest fight of his life, and yet stayed back and safe. how is that any different than clottey keeping "safe". **** drinker too has had big opportunities and fell short, but he isn't a disgrace, but if you're going strictly off of mental capabilities, then i can see what you're saying

due to his style, i can't see him doing what you want him to do. even when he was whooping judahs ass he didn't really pounce on him

i'm not saying this dude is the best, all i'm saying is if canelo could get passed him, then this would b a nicer stepping stone than beating shame mosley who can't even throw a right anymore. while many people are saying canelo would win, which he possibly could, like everyone else, he won't look good however

    Canelo by UD.

PLEASE don't make this fight unless it's on an undercard. I don't ever want to see Clottey headlining ANY event again.

No thanks, it'll be like watching Canelo on the punching bag for 36 minutes.

    really?

a lot of people are basing clottey on his fight with manny

sure he stays in his shell, but rewatch that fight with cotto, he was tagging cotto pretty good

manny's non-stop punches are what caused clottey to stay like that (possibly a mental thing of getting knocked out by a smaller man idk)

but if he were to fight someone else, i doubt he'd STAY like that again

his last fight, sure it was against a nobody, yet he took him out in the 2nd, nicely too

o yea, of course this wouldn't be a pay per view

no way does clottey deserve another pay per view event

just saying that this would be a tough challenge for canelo

Absolutely nothing, which is why he's the perfect opponent for Alvarez.

And Alvarez is so mediocre that I think Clottey would bash him in. He pretty much fought Cotto to a standstill, who is more active at throwing punches than Alvarez. People are talking up Alvarez is a pressure fighter...he isn't. He basically fights at Clottey's pace.

I'd take Clottey over Alvarez any day of the week.

 both parts of your comment are true

however, he has won his last match, whereas shame (who got a title shot) is 0-2-1 in his last 3

I'd say clottey's 1 win, while over a nobody, is still more than what shame did to get a shot

this is what i'm tryin to get at

folks are too stuck on the clottey who fought manny that they are forgetting about the clottey that whooped judah's ass and supposedly beat cotto according to lil floyd

Clottey took the lay down money from the Pac fight and ran back to Africa for a while. He wouldn't deserve this shot, but I think Clottey would make it a tough, interesting bout for Canelo.

Talk about a useless fight. Clottey is done, been irrelevant for years now. He's not even a stepping stone.
