Clottey is one of my favorite welters. The answer is simple - nobody wants to fight this dude. He comes forward at all times with a tight guard....and you're forced to fight him. He fights amazing on the inside and has such a beauty left hook. A cotto fight would be amazing but i doubt that'll happen. He just seems to have **** luck and be avoided. His fight with corrales was EPIC.
I thought he was beating Margarito when it was stopped. But, then, I thought Zab was ahead of Clottey before that stoppage. In any event, he's a force to be reckoned with at WW. He's strong, always well-conditioned, and fights a disciplined fight. He's a threat to anyone in the division.
He is 31,his prime is ticking.He better get the beg fights now or change promoters or something.In 2 years he will be past it.
He should know his place and call out his fellow B level fighters. The elite guys don't have time to waste on lower echelon fighters. Maybe he should look for a fight against Delvin rodriguez or Jesus Soto Karass cuz that's his level right there.
Floyd has no business messing with inferior men like clottey. Beating clottey isn't going to do **** for his career. Clottey should just rematch Richard Guiterez cuz he was fortunate to get that win.
I'd like to see Clottey - Quintana, or Clottey - Lujan. I mean Clottey definitely hasn't MADE it yet, so I think he should still fight whoever will fight him, he will get there eventually.

Clottey doesn't possess anything extraordinary himself. His speed and his power is just a little above average and nothing exceptional. I actually commend Cintron for choosing to move up in weight to fight a fresh young contender like Martinez. This fight is alot more dangerous than the clottey fight IMO. At best clottey should be looking to fight the winner of Berto/Collazo.
