Two talented and skilled contenders who fought some of the best fighters of their era. Who do you favor here? A fine match up that would have been both a chess match and a firefight.

I absolutely love this matchup. I think exchanges between these two would be fast, crisp and violent. I could see it going the distance but wouldn't be surprised with a late round stoppage either. I would favor Gray, but not by much.

A very good friend of mine passed away late last year. He had over 180 amateur fights and close to a dozen pro fights during his life. Late in his amateur career his manager, who had also managed Charley Burley at one point during his career, had him sparring with pros like Emile Griffith and Andy Heilmann. And Clyde Gray. My friend told me that he learned a lot from Griffith and Heilman but that Clyde Gray came out firing and trying to knock him out.
