He always gave his honest opinion rather than sit on fence for fear of upsetting the apple cart

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/b...ng-journalist-George-Foreman-JEFF-POWELL.html

Jeff Powell article on his friend Colin Hart.

"Our last conversation ended with him asking how I thought the Hammers would do next season. ‘Better than the last,’ I ventured. ‘Yeah, go on,’ he chuckled. The only reference to his last fight with cancer: ‘I’ve enjoyed a fantastic life. Thanks to everyone.’

    Spell his name Colin Heart
    ."

Died from cancer, this would suggest.

Not only an acclaimed boxing journalist but a man with a phenomenal head of hair that was worthy of entry to the International Boxing Hall of Fame on its own merits!

Didn't always agree with old Colin, but he was a proper old journo with a knowledge and passion that shone through. And he was not an arse kisser like lots of journos and pundits. Sad loss, life well lived, I hope people say as much about me when I go, it's all we can hope for and how we should live. RIP

A proper journalist in what is now a boxing world full of absolute chancers. RIP.

I had many fun and lovely evenings together with Colin Hart. We always met at a bar after work where we would take turns giving drinks and peanuts. He knew many stories about the different promoters and they were always a pleasure to listen to.

A powerhouse in journalism who unfortunately is no longer here. Rip.

I am too sad to watch this right now, but I will definitely be watching it soon. I loved listening to Colin Hart. He was funny as well. I do have a soft spot for the elders of our society who hold back no punches. If Colin were a boxer he would've been all out action and going out on his shield with no <you know what's> given.

And you thought this was a better idea than scrolling past the thread how, exactly?

If I could describe Colin in one word it would be authentic. Too many journalists today are flat out boring. Colin was interesting, informative, and entertaining.I respect him for going against the status quo, which he did so many times.

I read his tribute to George Foreman passing away yesterday in the Sun.
Once again totally honest and a great read.

Always enjoyed his participation in a regular spot on Box Nation with Jeff and others.
I still have his ringside report of his outrage, when Floyd Patterson was robbed of winning the heavyweight title from Jimmy Ellis in Sweden.
Great to hear Jeff Powell’s still active, one of the few who tell it like it is!

Colin Hart wrote a tribute to Foreman? He died a day after Foreman. Please post the link.
