mayweather himself admitted his last 2 fights were boring so he made up for it in the hatton fight, now lets stop pretending they were good fights.

The Corley stoppage was home cooking and was completely outrageous. He wasn't even hurt, he took a knee on his own terms, which was a good tactic because he was in the corner. Why they would've stopped that fight was ridiculous.

I know they were. But that doesn't change the fact that Cotto fought them after Floyd did.

Floyd has the edge in better victories over those fighters then Cotto.

Again, Cottos win over Shane is better than any of Frauds wins. .. with the possible exception of Chico. Considering that was at 130 and both Cotto and Fraud are at 147, Cottos W over Shane at 147 is bigger.

No way. Shane was older, Shane in his prime would tear Cotto up. And Cotto barely surpassed him.

Cottos win over Shane is good but as great as everyone makes it out to be.

Ya you can't discount that he is not in his prime. And personally to be honest this version of Shane isn't that much better than the version of DLH floyd fought. Prime Shane was faster (against Cotto Shane seemed slower then cotto), better reflexes, put combinations together 10X BETTER... against cotto he barely through combo's. Floyd's win over hatton and especially due to the way he won it is better than what cotto has done, so far. Mosley win is on par with Floyds DLH win.

SSM version that fought Cotto, was better than the version of ODLH that fought PBF, and he won by narrow margin, I can only imagine a effective high pressure boxer like SSM woul dhave given PBF far more to think about than ODLH ever did...

We can discect all these facts one way or another...in my mind Cotto wins agaisnt the common opponents are at the very least as good as PBF wins against them...but factor the age and time Cotto fought them on his career and you have something to talk about...look at the age Cotto fought this guys compare to PBF...let';s not forget that Cotto just turn 27....

Then if they were already beaten when Floyd beat them then I guess they got better with each loss huh?

So what Cotto beating these guys after they been beaten multiply time mean? It doesn't tell you ****...

That version of SSM is only better because it fits your arguement...

Floyd won his first title in 1998 when he was 21 years old...Cotto was 23 and had only 14 fights...You can't look only common opponents...because how do you explain Floyds fights with Castillo and Corrales? Cotto has just step up in class to start fighting the Judahs and Mosleys where Floyd has been doing it for quite some time...it just so happens that the opponents in common have already been beaten by Floyd and have faced Floyd after he has fought other good fighters...It doesnt tell you anything...

For quite sometime...yes ...riught...I can say the same argument that PBF didn't stepped up his competion until he fought the Judah's and ODLH...hell let see, other than Castillo who else he fought that is considered a great fighter, Chico, who I love and RIP, WAS NOT AN ELITE FIGHTER specially when he fought PBF...he was banger...and a boxer with a huge heart but an elite fighter he was not....I can make a case for all opponents of PBF except in the last year tht I can claim he was not stepping it up....Why he never fought Joel Casamayor....

Cotto for allpractical purpose, like it or not, was stepping up his competition at an earlier age than PBF ever did...and that is a fact
