Really glad to see all the home nations doing so well today in the boxing. On a real roll. Managed to catch Paddy Barnes's fight this morning before I left for work. Love his ultra-tight guard and quick hands, his opponent just couldn't get a look-in.
He is quite good and has a decent chance against the Indian as long as the judging is fair which in most cases it has been, think its been iffy on a couple of ocassions but the aussie ref yesterday too 4 points of one of the indian boys in the quarters and cost him the fight so there is hope. Ogogo has good feet and counters well, his defence is tight enough and he seems to have some pop in his punches and moves well. Just that everyone really rates the Indian kid and he is the favourite of the fans as well so the atmosphere will be hard for Ogogo but hopefully he feeds off it.
what about the indian lad that Haroon will face?Anyone seen him fight? I heard his nickname in India is "Little Tyson"
According to this Commonwealth Games live blog in the Guardian: 'No doubt about what the crowds are here for though - Haroon Khan v Suranjoy Mayengbam (Pakistan v India) in the flyweight (around 1pm BST) and then England's Anthony Agogo v Vijender Singh in the middleweight (around 1.30pm BST).' http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/oct/11/commonwealth-games-2010-delhi-11-october Not sure if it's right though.
