Competing with extreme short-sightedness

    Pretty surprised that the thought of my eyesight stopping me compete never popped into my head until now. Bit of a motivation killer but I'll carry on training and have a look into these Ortho K lenses I suppose!

    Just excuse yourself to the bathroom after medical evaluations and put in your contacts.
    Don't complain or let on if they fall out.
    I've had multiple optometrists & ophthalmologists tell me that there's no added danger to the eye with soft, disposable contacts.
    This is a case where the commissions are behind modern medicine.
    It's an unfair disadvantage not to be able to correct your vision.

    If you opt for surgery, PRK is the way to go, as Lasik leaves a flap & doesn't stand up well to contact.
    PRK is what military members get.

    Id go for it if they cant see the problem, how will they know unless you tell them? if your eyes are visibly scarred in any way though then its still a no go in most combat sports nowa days.
