I'd have more sympathy for Eddie if he didn't have generational wealth and hang around elite circles. Get over it.

I don't think anybody feels sorry for Hearn in the slightest

Exactly, the only ones trying the faux sympathy are Hearn himself and his arse lickers on the swinging circuit like Bellew.

I don't know. The same marks who bought into Benn being innocent were mostly saying that because Hearn did. He's a lucky man it's turned on a sixpence overnight.

I think the thing nobody will want to talk about is the whole connection to the Sims. Benn the elder originally decided on Sims/Matchroom for young Conor. It's notable how Hearn couldn't give Nigel and Tony enough praise and yet there's surely zero chance they weren't involved in this move?

I’d be surprised if Sims has any say. He trains him for fights, Benn will have his dad, management, advisors and hangers on who he’ll listen to and influence things from a business and promotional perspective.

Yeah, I don't feel particularly sorry for Hearn, it's not as though he hasn't poached fighters himself like Ben Whittaker. He should have locked down Conor contractually if he was that important to him. I think the main reason this is such a talking point is how cold and ruthless Conor was in this. If it was any other typical fighter/promotor relationship nobody would bat an eye lid, but the history between Hearn and Benn is quite something. Ten years working together from rank amateur to challenging for world titles, two failed tests, talk of 'ending it all', being public enemy number 1 and vilified in the boxing community, massive legal bills needing to be paid. Hearn backed him the whole way and got him thorough all of that stuff, probably tarnishing his own reputation and aged himself in the process. Yes of course Eddie is a businessman and expected a return on his investment, but damn! After all that talk of loyalty you drop him that quickly? That is seriously cold!!!
Considering how much money he's earned already and how much he was likely to have got with Matchroom, I can't take all the "it's for my family" BS. He's constantly caked in Louis Vuitton clobber, Gucci this and Prada that, driving the latest Lamborghini or Rolls Royce. I'd respect him more if he just said, "yeah I love money and want as much as I can get"

Given the fact that boxing fans in this country are normally divided into people that can't stand Conor Benn and Matchroom fans who supported him through Hearn, it will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets when he next fights in the UK next and how many tickets he shifts .

Let's hope he doesn't pop again cos no way any other promoter would pull him put of the shyte like Hearn did/would.

If Nigel and Tony are anything like the Sims I've known over the years they'll not have said a word as long as there's been ample provision made for their basic needs, namely transport, environment, commercial, residential and industrial zoned land and perhaps a small park as well as utilities, policing medical and fire station coverage. If Conor can't handle that then he's only himself to blame. :nonono

Are you kidding? It would be hilarious if he popped right on the eve of Zuffa's big day. :risas3:

Wouldn’t make a difference at this point even if it did, he’s had his eubank fights and made his money and now gone onto secure a big onwards deal, it needed to come out at the time!

I said on here a few months ago they’d drag someone up from 140  what a crap fight. I did predict Barboza as opposed to Prograis though.

    Terrible match

    Prograis was retired

    Imagine if Benn loses

One smart thing here tho is people will watch as its not only on Netflix but also not the fight people will be tunning in for
Right now Benn appears to have very little support in terms of fans so nobody is turning up for him alone
