Regis is one of my favourite fighters, but I think he’s done at the top level now. He can still bang, but the resistance looks gone, and that’s a horrible mix against a guy like Benn who’ll come out fast and reckless. It’s also a huge launch pad for Conor – he’ll be expected to shine bright here and steal the show. If Benn really is getting $15m for this then he’s pulled Turki’s and Dana’s pants down, unless the more likely reality is this is just the prelim before he gets fed to someone bigger. The only way Benn lands a huge name is if Zuffa overpay again or manage to snag someone decent out of contract… but who’s actually there? I can genuinely see Prograis getting done inside a round here, which is depressing to type. Still, part of me hopes he turns back the clock, lands that right hand clean, and Benn just folds.
