Larry Holmes beat Spinks and should have gone to 49-0 Leonard beat Hagler Floyd beat Castillo both times Lewis was robbed in the first fight with Holyfield, no way was that a draw.
not even, though Robinson had that throwback style, he was still extremely skilled, brilliant counterpuncher, great jab, footwork, ring generalship, could hurt you from both the inside or outside to either the body or head most complete fighter of all time IMO but anyways..... mine would be: Prime Tyson's overrated, and a prime Holyfield would still do him in
Sure, I don't particularly want to compare Leonard and Robinson, but a case can definitely be made for Leonard as the most complete fighter. I also disagree about Tyson. I think a prime Tyson is too much for Holyfield.
Prime Lennox Lewis would have destroyed any version of Mike Tyson, ever. David Haye wont last 5 rounds against a Klitschko
Altough many posters say that Duran always had trouble with slick mobile fighters, I believe DUran beats PBF by UD...however I also think Pernell Whitaker wins by UD against Duran
That was the first time we had ever seen Judah hurt. How did Jay Nady know that he wasn't going to be able to recover and fight on. Or come back and hurt Tzyu with something as he got careless tryinng to finish the job? We are talking about the same Jay Nady that watched Fernando Vargas get up twice and give Felix Trinidad the fight of his life and let him almost get killed in the last round after taking so much punishment and a prolonged beating. Fact is early on in a fight, the least you can do is give a guy a count and see if he gets his legs back. You are probably right, Tzyu would have probably still won, but that's besides the point. When you train that hard, and are in a big fight like that, you deserve your 10 count unless your life or long term health is in jeapordy and that was clearly not the case here.
I think Pacquiao's right hook to the body will be more effective in the fight than Cotto's left hook to the body.
I like John Ruiz and think he serves a valued role in the HW division. He's not exciting but his ability to take fights on short notice against a wide arrange of opponents is somewhat vital. He's a litmus test for young heavies. I think EM/Pac was a funner rivalry than MAB/EM. Not better mind you, just more entertaining. I think MAB could beat the wild reckless Edwin Valero.
218 pound James Toney, immediately post Holyfield, would have utterly destroyed Wlad Kltischko. Adamek moved to heavyweight to avoid a rematch with USS. Prime for prime, the man in my avatar gives Bob Foster sheer hell.
I'm secretly rooting for RJJ to upset Bernard Hopkins. Watching Roy Jones get batted by Calzaghe and the ilk has made me pretty desperate to have Roy get one more moment in the sun.
