    He does enough IMO.

But it's close enough for me that I've never really shouted either way.

Well no, you're not stupid obviously, mate. I respect your opinions on the sport massively. Not many posters on here whose breakdowns I look forward to more.

I found it hard to give it to Williams. He wasn't landing a huge amount, he was winging punches and chasing most of the time. Sergio landed the better, harder shots every round. So it comes down to whether you prefer volume or quality.

I have a thing against most volume punchers. Juan Diaz, at his best, was a great example of how it's meant to be done. He'd cover up, get in range using slips and the jab, then unleash five or six shots, step around and do the same. The shots generally went to the target and he was excellent at opening opponents up.

Williams is just so sloppy and misses so many shots. When he does land they're generally light punches.

So watching the fight at the time, I just felt he was working but not achieving much. When Sergio punched however, he was moving Williams about.

    All fair points :good

As I say, I can see entirely why peeps would score it to Sergio. I still think both men gave a good account of themselves but yeah, that seems to sum up P-Dubs deficiencies well!

I wouldn't really argue either way, but it seems I need to re-watch it, just for my own records :thumbsup When yourself and Wallet hold a shared opinion, it's obvious I need to re-investigate!

No chance V.W....not IMO anyway :good

Elorde, Floyd Jr and Arguello are the only viable contenders for the top spot IMO :good

Martinez won the first fight by a single round imo. Williams is a good fighter against smaller opposition at welter but I fear for his resistance at higher weights such as middle. He needs to get down to 154 and smash up your JCC Jr's of this world and possibly go after the winner of Cotto v Marg.

Williams is best at 154, but even at 147 he'd come unstuck against the best.

Based on stance alone you'd make Pacquiao a solid favourite to annihilate him, to be honest I'd make any half decent southpaw that doesn't mind an opponent with high output a favourite to beat him.

He just can't see the back hand punches coming.

Shame really, he's not all the natural attributes but can't seem to piece it together.
