Panama Lewis should be number 1 on this list. I don't think he's a bad trainer, but Buddy McGirt, simply because it seems like every top fighter in his stable seems to lose his big fight on the big stage. That's a pattern.
Chris Byrd's corner (his f'n dad I think!!!!) should've stopped the fight much earlier than it was in Bryd's debut at 175. I was trully disgusted that his own family would let him take that kind'a punishment and Byrd ultimately suffered a bad shoulder injury on the last knockdown. I think Chris already has some brain damage and I think that that is a perfect example of a corner faling their fighter.:nono
Naz v Barrera.. 2 advisiors, taking turns after set rounds, looks good on paper but practically it was wack!
Katsidis' corner in the Casamayor fight. He told Michael to bring up the intensity level when he was comfortably ahead. Katsidis was knocked out shortly after these instructions.
That's exactly the fight I was thinking of. He kept telling Katsidis that he was doing everything perfectly and winning heeven stopped other guys in the corner from trying to talk when they were telling Katsidis the truth
I agree, thats the first fight that came to my mind when I seen the thread title. He was so far behind on points, Lacy would have needed a KO to win and it was obvious that wasnt happening. I think his corner was hoping for him to land the big KO punch all the way to the end as he was a KO artist back then but after a certain point when its a one side beating like that the late round KOs rarely happen. His power was gone by then as he was tired and he wasnt landing anything anyways, definitely should have stopped it.
Lou Duva , Tyrell Biggs against Tyson.. Biggs legs were gone totally , he was hurt badly and he was bleeding from a deep gash over his eye... Duva.. " If your legs are shot Biggs, goddammitt , stand there and just fight him inside.. " wtf.. against Tyson in 1988........ puleazzzze
Probably Sanders as well during the later rounds. Again I think their corner was hoping for the big KO punch. I think its a trend, it seems like the guys who are the biggest punchers, their corner is more likely to allow them to take abuse in hopes that they will land a hail mary out of no where at some point, like the Foreman-Moore fight. But the majority of the time it doesnt happen, especially after theyve been beat down and are tired out.
they had ****in Sterling Macphereson in the corner goddamm it. screaming after 2 kd's Danny you can do more than this, make your country men proud..
1 that came to mind was Brock/Klitschko If you watch that fight, Brocks corner advise for most of the rounds was "hey! dont stand in front of him" THATS IT!!!! pour guy:yep
how about zab judahs dad in his losing efforts? ... come on baby ...pow pow zip zip zip ...punch this guy!!
