You said you were going to stop and then you continue of course ANYONE would poitn that out. You do it yourslef. Like I said, Ive been done with Warcraft for quite some time and made money off of it. Whats wrong playing a game when your bored at home. Gotta burn time somehow. Limited to Floyd? Lol, do you follow me on every post I make? I doubt it because I've made plenty others. It seems you only me in Floyd post because a lot of forum make's ******ed topics like these which I reply to.
Honestly, strictly on a head to head basis, that is how I would rate the welterweight division's top 3.
I think Williams presents something of a stylistic nightmare for Floyd. He enjoys such a big height advantage and such a big reach advantage as well as his punch output. Not to mention the fact he is a southpaw. Floyd would be landing the more accurate shots/cleaner shots, but would be getting outworked. If Williams used his jab, he would keep Floyd at a distance and in a position where he would have trouble hitting him. To beat Williams, you need to get inside and be able to do damage to the body. Is Mayweather a better fighter than Williams? Absolutely. It's just a styles thing. We'll probably never see this fight unless Williams does some major things, so that's just my .02
i agree he does pose a nightmare with his style.but williams give up his height alot. yes pbf would be getting outworked but i dont think he'd be getting outlanded and i believe he's smart enough to get inside on williams. i also dont think williams uses his jab like he's suppose to he flicks it out there alot and doesnt bring it back fast either. Williams gets very sloppy sometimes and i dont think his footwork is very good. williams throws alot of punches but i dont think he'll let his hands go like that against a moving target.i think pbf's good defense and ring smarts get him past williams. IMO pbf and cotto beats pw at this point, mainly because i think williams is a little green right now and makes alot of mistakes. mistakes he cant make against smart fighters like pbf and cotto
All very good and valid points. Floyd is capable of winning this fight too. He can get sloppy at times and smother his punches, so I guess the thing I would be banking on his his improvement at keeping a distance with the right jab. It'll be interesting to see if he makes any improvements against Quintana. If he wins a close/razor thin decision there against a guy who is quick/slick, I would give Floyd an edge since he does just about everything better than Quintana.
1. Mayweather 2. Cotto 3. Williams 4. Mosley 5. Margarito 6. Cintron (Who cares?) I dont like him, but it is no doubt that at the present time Floyd is #! the man is too fast. He needs to take on his division though or else that ranking may quickly change.
I think Williams would have success early and probably frusturate Cotto. He would probably have a little trouble getting inside and landing on Williams for the first 2-3 rounds. But I see Cotto figuring him out, cutting off the ring, and getting inside. Williams may accept an inside fight which wouldn't bode well. I'd imagine he'd get busted up to the body and methodically worn down with hard punches from Cotto. A late round TKO or UD What's your take on this?
My take on this fight is simialr to how a pbf-cotto would play out. i think pw could keep cotto at bay for about 3 rounds, but cotto is a smart fighter and will not go away from his gameplan. Like i said before williams gets to sloppy and for some odd reason likes to lean in and fight inside(which is suicide against cotto) and not use his reach. I dont believe williams can hurt cotto either so it wont discourage cotto from coming forward. Cotto's defense isnt the best but i think its better than AM's and williams only landed 22% on him. Once cotto gets inside because of PW's poor footwork PW wont be able to get away or get cotto off him. Cotto then goes on to Chop PW's down like a tree to a late TKO. Like i said i dont think PW "boxing skills" are that good to keep cotto or Pbf off him. i think PW is a tough matchup because of his work rate because he gives up his other advantages the way he fights. He would need a good jab and good footwork along with head movement(all of which he isnt good at at this point) PW also has NO DEFENSE AT ALL. After all sharmbra mitchell did tag PW quite a bit.
There is really no indication that Williams is a flash in the pan. A middleweight touring as a welterweight in his early years is going to probably beat everyone at welter. Someone is going to have to convince me otherwise that he doesn't belong in the top 2. Mayweather is the other top 2 guy. But you add up all of his real welterweight fights and none of those guys equal Margarito. Sorry, that's just how it is. I can't put on a straight face by putting him ahead of Williams, let alone far ahead. Then outside of that top 2 I'd have Cotto at three, and Margarito at 4. I'd keep both of these guys close because 2008 may set them apart from the top 2. Everyone else is a bit far away.
