Peds don't help with your combo and counter-punching skills. He should have insisted on vada testing against Pac.

This would of been a awesome fight. I can't even pick a winner, I doubt cotto would try rushing jmm as he is a smart boxer so I have to side with cotto.

I think it would start off kind of slow for first few rounds, cotto would fight a disciplined fight and box Marquez until Marquez gets frustrated and starts hunting down cotto, once that happens cotto lands big shots and controls rest of the fight.

Cotto just not in Marquez league skillwise. Stamina wise, Marquez completely takes over the fight past the midway point.

Cotto is looking to fight at 160 lbs for God's sake, if this matchup were to be made at 147 lbs, Marquez would bloodgeon and stop Cotto inside of 10 rounds.

THIS. Jmm could be outboxed by a great boxer like Mayweather or Bradley, who used alot of defense in that particular fight. Only thing tho, Cotto wasn't very consistent esp after the Margarito fight. I think a motivated Cotto builds a lead, but he gets popped with an uppercut and gets lured into a toe to toe war, gets prideful and overconfident, and gets stopped. At 147.

Marquez is too small. I don't think he'll ever campaign north of 147 lbs, and I don't think Cotto can make 147 lbs anymore. Stylistically it would be a very good fight to watch, but Cotto is just too big for him at this point in his career.

Marquez is too old he'd definitely lose to Cotto now.

not a big puncher? JMM hasclose to an 80%Ko ratio and has it against too competition. theres a reaon his name is dinamita. As forthe fight, Cotto prbably takes it based on size

Same thing happened with Erik Morales. Pac, Morales, and Marquez all fought Barrera but for some reason Marquez never fought Morales. Shame.

I think the problem was something like Marquez wasn't a welterweight until 2011 and Cotto was a junior middleweight from 2010 on. From 2003-2006 when Cotto is a light welter Marquez was a featherweight. They just were never in the same weight class.
