I was just trying to show that poster that his logic or more so that particular comment didn't necessarily make sense; that is why I highighted the last sentence in his quote and in my response which was the exact same thing. My response was made to him as I didn't feel that I needed to spell it out for him. If I was replying to you I know I would have to spell it out. And in the end I still had to spell it out for you.
He fought Judah 2 years ago. That aint that long and he hasn't fought a southpaw since so the odds that he has learned how to avoid that punch thrown from that angle are slim especially considering how poor his trainer is.
I think Cotto by stoppage or UD. I think people are putting to much emphasis on pacs win over weight drained, old, & Part-time fighter DLH and his win over super overrated Hatton. I also think people are dismissing Cotto's sskills based on the Margarito fight and Clottey fight. His offense vs Marg was superb. He simply ran out of gas against a bigger & stronger fighter (which pac is neither of those 2) and against Clottey, he was FORCED to box for 7 or 8 rounds b/c of that cut, not b/c of Clottey's pressure. He had to change his game plan b/c otherwise he would risk the cut worsening. While possible, I do believe it is highly unlikely that Pac hit's harder than Zab, Mosley, or Margarito. also, people keep talking about Pac pressuring cotto. That is also unlikely b/c Pac will not be physicallly able to impose his size on cotto. cotto is just too big. the only way pac can win this IMO is to stay on the outside the whole fight usiing "in & out" quick combos. But i think pac is too much of a warrior to stick to that type of plan, which will be his downfall. however, i will say this. If pac beats Cotto, that victory would TRUMP any accomplishment mayweather has ever had PERIOD. If cotto beats pac, I think it will be a good win, not a great one simply b/c of pac's natural size.
I think that Cotto has dealt well with speed in the past. I think that he is been in there with bigger men that hit hard. I agree with you that Pac can't pressure consistently like Margarito. Pac's pressure are a series of sporatic offensive assaults. He is more measured now and I have a feeling that Miguel can and will control the pace of the fight which will be to his advantage.
I dont see how you say Cotto has better defense than Pac. Pac is very hard to hit these days. Hatton and DLH didnt land anything of note on him. Clottey outlanded Cotto, his defense was bad that fight.
I agree with these. First I think Cotto is on the downslide and second the size difference wont matter that much, Pac has looked very good at 140 and 147, he fits fine into these weights. You need a strategy to beat him not just planning on being stronger like Hatton because when they get there in the ring and see how strong he is for his size they better have a back up plan.
So you are going to use a 2 rd fight and the fight with weight drained DLH as a measuring tool for Pac's defense and yet you are going to fault Cotto for getting hit when his vision was impaired due to the cut on his eye. I think Pac has good lateral movement and slips punches well but overall I think Cotto has a more encompassing defensive tool bag then Pac.
